As a person that eats real Mexican food (travels to Mexico on a regular basis) this was not Mexican. It was Mexican inspired at best. Don’t get me wrong, it was edible but I’ll be honest, and not a ding on Blue Iguana or Taco Bell, but to me, it was a “gourmet” version of Taco Bell. the chips were good but the salsa was not spicy and was like Pace Picante sauce, more on the sweet side. This is why I gave it two stars on the food. I only give 4 stars for the service because I had asked for more salsa and the server never brought it, but I will say that the food came out extremely fast. The restaurant looked nice and as far as I can tell has a full bar. It’s off-season in Destin so there was not a lot of people. Overall, the place and the people were nice, but the food is not to my liking. That being said, others seem to enjoy it as there are good reviews. So it could just be me since I am used to authentic Mexican food.

We had the most incredible experience at Blue Iguana in Destin, FL! The red snapper was seasoned to perfection and plated like a true piece of art — almost too beautiful to eat (almost ). The chicken fajitas were absolutely delicious, sizzling and full of flavor in every bite.
The ambiance is gorgeous — warm, inviting, and perfect for a special night out or just treating yourself. But what truly made the evening unforgettable was the service. Freddy and Eduardo were absolutely wonderful and made us feel so welcomed and taken care of.
This is officially our new favorite restaurant in Destin. We’ll definitely be back!

My husband and I came for lunch today. Fabiola was so kind, professional and gave great service. The food was outstanding. Best Mexican food you’ll find in this entire area, and we’ve tried everything. The fajita chicken is perfectly seared and tender, and the peppers have a unique Smokey taste. The salsa and chips are amazing. Even the tortilla tasted homeade. Although my husband and I live 40 minutes away, we will be frequenting this restaurant for every date night possible. It is well worth the drive. Next time I can’t wait to try a margarita!

Blue Iguana delivers outstanding Mexican food in a warm, lively atmosphere. I had the enchiladas with mole absolutely amazing while my wife enjoyed the flavorful carne asada. The staff and service were exceptional and very welcoming. Overall, a place we’d gladly visit again.

This is a beautifully decorated Mexican restaurant. There’s lots of seating both inside and out. The chips were hot and fresh, and the salsa was spicy and well blended. The small guacamole was plenty for two people and very affordable. Our server did a fantastic job and was always around when we needed him. We had the lunch size chicken and steak fajitas, which were very good and came out sizzling. Recommended!

Stopped by with my aunt for a quick dinner while on a weekend trip. We’re both very indecisive but remembered seeing this place on the way to our hotel. We were seated very fast and given an option of where to seat. Our server Fabiola came to us swiftly and was so sweet and took the time to list the specials and give us advice on food. My Birria was AMAZING! And it was a full plate of food! Fabiola was so kind and the restraint is so cute inside. A perfect place for tourists! I can’t wait til my whole family comes back on June!

Francisco was attentive and friendly and made our visit well worth while. That’s not to mention the food. The tacos Campechano were incredible and the queso dip was creamy and delicious. All around a great experience. Would highly recommend
