Popular sushi spot offering a range of creative rolls in modern digs, plus weekly sushi classes.

Sushi, tempura, tonkatsu. Service is super slow. We were the only ones there when we arrived and waited more than 45 minutes for our meals. The food is fairly good, typical prices for sushi places. The tomkatsu was overcooked. The lighting is horrible. You can hardly read the menu. Background noise interferes with conversation. Waitress is attentive.

I hate leaving reviews like this (and rarely do), but Blue Hashi was a huge miss this time and I know they can do better. The overall quality has declined significantly in the last while. Sushi tasted days-old and the service was especially terrible. It took almost an hour to get our food, our waitress rarely checked in and never got around to clearing our appetizer dishes. She and others didn’t pick up on basic needs that weren’t being met, and were visibly standing around doing nothing.
Sticky floors, restrooms without toilet paper, wobbly chairs. Whole place needs a deep clean.
Only redeemable thing was their Hashi-style edamame. (So good!)
I hope this review helps management get things back to how they were—in dire need of waiter training and a cleanliness refresh!!

Amazing Sushi! Portions are great (my husband and I both ordered two rolls and we each had one left over). Ordered the Veggie Vision (level 5 spice) and probably in the Top 5 of best food I have ever had. It was beautiful and tasted amazing! It was so hot I was shaky by the time I made it through all the rolls and would 100% order it again.

Absolutely amazing sushi! The Lotus roll is to die for. The fish was super fresh, the rolls were packed with flavor, and everything came out beautifully presented. The staff was friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was on theme and welcoming. Definitely one of the best sushi spots I’ve been to — can’t wait to come back!

Our first time coming here just to try it, but because the first choice was short staffed and we really wanted sushi. Everything was good and filling. They ran out of the sake when we went but not sure if she understood us since I’ve seen others having them, but it’s ok. The service was fast and quick which I loved. It was a bit crowded and the cooks were busy nonstop. Nice friendly staff by the way and seems like they all love working there.

Sushi rolls are honestly some of the best in town, the lower rating however is it doesn’t matter what time you come in, you will be waiting for almost an hour for 4 rolls during slow traffic hours and over an hour at peak hours, and every visit has been the same experience (not cooked or fried rolls that would extend wait time due to the process all raw rolls). Awsome rolls, friendly staff, but the slowest chefs in town, I usually opt for the other 2 sushi joints in town as much as I do enjoy the food here. Probably won’t be back unless something changes

We were super excited to try it out for our first time, Sat down got drinks, no one came to take our order after 20-25 min of being there, we were a party of 2, and a party came 20min after us and got sat got their drinks and they started to take their order so we got left. Mind you it was not busy all other tables prior to us arriving were eating (5 total party’s in the restaurant during the time) the server was standing at the bar flirting with a guy and there were multiple times no one was on the floor at all. Being a waitress I found this unacceptable.

Blue Hashi is on the opposite side of town from our office right now, but it’s still a regular lunch spot for dine-in or take-out! The staff has been consistently kind and attentive. Food is quick, even today when the dining room was almost full for lunch. Happy that a spot like this is in town.

There was a time when I really enjoyed Blue Hashi but the last 3 times I’ve been there I’ve been disappointed in their food. I gave it 2 stars because the service was and always has been good. It’s the food that’s really changed.
First off, the rice just seemed stale, like rolls that have been prepared and set out for hours. Grocery store sushi came to mind. And not to soil grocery store sushi, because some of it is actually decent. I mean the cheaper stuff; you know what I mean.
Second, the amount of fish you get on the rolls seems to be far less than what’s expected, especially for the price; this is one of the most expensive sushi restaurants in town. Don’t get me wrong, there can definitely be too much fish, but that’s a totally different problem.
The other issue, which has the lowest impact but nonetheless needs to be brought up is the appearance and upkeep. The chairs all have almost all of the paint missing, the walls have holes, base boards chipped away, and then there’s the cups. The plastic cups you get for beverages, look like they’ve been dropped on the rim countless times. They’re all so badly chipped and jagged. It’s one of those small details that carries a lot of weight. And considering how seemingly affordable it would be to replace the cups, it says a lot.
I want to make it clear, I like this place. I want it to be good and I want it to succeed. I’ve shared plenty of great nights with my wife and family here and the wait staff and generally all round service is and always has been great. I’m leaving this review in the hopes that this place changes and gives it’s customers what they pay for; the most expensive sushi in town (average roll is $16-$18). Hopefully this helps, you know, constructive criticism.

This is the best sushi Idaho Falls has to offer. It’s the only sushi place that offers a twist on edamame. Order it hashi style for the best edamame you can find. The tempura is always good, and they have a variety of sake options.
Among the sushi choices, the Nagasaki, the Geisha, and the Caterpillar are rolls you can’t go wrong with. If you generally enjoy all types of sushi rolls, try the Vision and be both surprised and delighted with what comes out.
