On the evening before Christmas Eve, my wife and I were at the hospital and relied on this restaurant for a meal. Their online system listed them as ‘Open’ and processed our payment, but when we arrived to pick up the food, the building was dark and locked.
While operational errors happen, the follow-up has been a display of complete negligence. I was charged in full. After a week of unreturned calls, I finally reached a staff member last weekend who verified the error. I was promised a manager call-back (which never happened) and then promised an immediate refund receipt (which was never sent).
You took money from a family in a hospital waiting room, provided no food, and are now ghosting us regarding the reimbursement. That is not just bad service; it is theft.
The service was slow, the cocktails were good but unusual (margaritas with lemons) and the entrees were either good or not eatable.
Thought we would a couple of their “classic” entrees.
My wife enjoyed her steak Tampiqueña, but my Huarache / Asada was so tough I couldn’t eat it.
Took a while to find our waiter, then waited for him to bring our check. Dinner & 2 margaritas were over $80.
The salsa and guacamole is amazing. Im told is made fresh daily. And the lecream (white cheese) is to die for. I’m not sure what I ordered as I told the waiter what I like and let him pick a dish for me. All I know is they are going to spice it up a bit as I like spicy food and it’s normally not spicy.
Ok, it’s getting better and better now that the entrees are here.
I don’t remember the name of the dish but it’s the one in the square plate that the waiter ordered for me. The small container of green (I think its a spicy mole sauce) is the extra addition to give it more heat. They decided to put it on the side instead of directly on it. After one taste, I put a generous portion on half of it, so I could enjoy some original flavor and some spicy. I also used some with the chips. Both people with me were very happy with their food. The fajitas were excellent as the steak, chicken and shrimp were very tasty.
I also had a little bowl of soup that was very tasty. Reminds me of eating hot tamales.
I’m looking forward to coming back when I am in town.
