Came here to grab some dinner as I’ve eaten at the SC location before and recently moved to the Salisbury area. The service was poor as soon as we sat down for our dinner. Brought the wrong drink and minimally checked on. The food was ok but nothing outstanding

Ok so here’s the thing. My family went out tonight wanting to have a good dinner. The server was really bad. She was there to seat us. And the only time we saw her was when she gave us our food and the check. Another thing is my steak I had received was raw. Like still mooing and instead of them trying to help we had to yet again get another person to help us. The manager was kinda rude because we told her about our experience as if it was our fault. The place however was beautiful and thank you to the other waitress who actually helped us…

Like everywhere else these prices went up and the food portions went down. I got the salt and pepper flounder and shrimp combo. The flounder tasted mushy. And I got one decent size and the other looks like it was ripped in half. The shrimp was decent size and tasted alright. A tad over cooked. But the food came out very very hot. I understand it’s because they were super busy and understaffed like a lot of restaurants, and trying to cook more at one time.** Here’s a helpful tip Just slow down and don’t try to overcrowd the fryer basket when you do it drops the oil temperature. ** The staff were AMAZING!!! Making sure everyone was promptly seated and served!!! Thank you for your dedication.

This place is hit or miss. Sometimes it’s really good and others it mid. But they do have good chicken especially if you ask them to salt and pepper it before frying. Also the menu can be confusing, especially the specials. Can’t substitute items (ex. Fries instead of rice). It’s a basic “fish camp” I believe is what they are called in the south.

So I have been eating at Blue Bay occasionally through the years when we visit with my In-laws. I have a shellfish allergy so I have to go with alternatives because even fish cooked with shellfish will trigger a severe allergic reaction. My family loves seafood so while they eat the good stuff, I usually get steak and salad. I found out something new about them today! They cook all seafood together, but fries, fried okra, potato wedges are cooked separate from fish and hush puppies are cooked separately! How considerate! Not very many restaurants make that accommodation, so I was grateful to be able to eat fried okra and hushpuppies! YUM!
The host was warm and accommodating which is always a plus to be welcomed immediately. Our server (I’ll probably spell it wrong… my bad! No name tag!) Shawna was SUPER nice and sweet. She was attentive and made sure we had plenty of drink, kept checking to be sure we were enjoying our meal, and just overall an awesome server!
The food was HOT and fresh, and it was C
Cooked per request (dad wanted well done steak, hubby wanted medium well steak), and the salad was crisp and not wilted. *The thousand island salad dressing is home made and sooooo good!
Overall, Yes I would recommend Blue Bay to anyone that wants a good seafood experience. Ask for Shawna! Again, I apologize if I spelled the name wrong.

Service was good very nice people BUT the food is soggy and bland. No flavor an to top it off the flounder mine (broiled) an my bfs (fried) was FULL of bones just couldn’t eat it. Idk how people think this is good food an I really hope no one ends up swallowing a bone.

The food is good, especially if you like fried seafood. The service is also good, and be patient during high volume times, like Sunday lunch when we went. If you are looking for a fresh seafood experience, we’re too far from the coast. The place is clean and open to patrons of any background. Couples and large groups were accommodated while we were there. No pressure to leave. It did get a little louder but the place was full. Gotta allow for some grace. We’ll be back.

The bone-in flounder was delicious. Everything was fried perfectly. The quantity of food is amazing for the price. The hushpuppies are the best. The SWEET TEA IS THE BEST I’VE HAD IN NC so far. Not a long wait time and the customer service was great. Our server was hands down a Professional.
