Relaxed restaurant & bar serving Mexican food along with margaritas by the glass or pitcher.

1st time here. Really good food, big margaritas and great service. Atmosphere was awesome as well. If I had one knock against it? The refried beans were warm at best. But so what it happens. Definitely recommend.

This place is next to my gym so I had to try it! We had a good dinner, restaurant had a nice Fl vibe, clean, employees were friendly and polite. Ordered Chicken sriracha, it may not be the most Mexican but it had good flavors, chicken was grilled and tender. Also ordered the Queso fundido with shrimp, it came with freshly made flour tortillas
Will go back next time to try different dishes

Birria tacos. Would be better if you chop the meet instead of shredding it. Margaritas are good but lacks the taste of tequila. So order a shot on the side.

“Had an amazing experience at this Mexican restaurant! The food was delicious, especially the tacos al pastor and fresh guacamole. The staff was friendly, and the atmosphere was perfect. Highly recommend for anyone craving authentic Mexican flavors!”

They used to have the best homemade guacamole and now it’s gone downhill a lot. The staff very helpful very nice people. The kids meals are reasonably priced but just reheated frozen food. Which isn’t really a bad thing for my family because my kids really don’t like spices. They do have some really good steak tacos. I get them American style with a flower tortilla. In my mind is the best thing on the menu now that the guacamole is not as good as it used to be. It’s not bad just not as good as it used to be.

Have gone there for years, but recently it has really gone downhill! Was there a couple of nights ago. The music was way too loud. Couldn’t even hear your table mate. There were several waiters and only 3 tables of guests, but it took them 30 minutes to take our order. The prices have gone up but the food portions have gone down and it seems so has the quality of the food. I got a taco salad. There was Very Little meat in the bottom. Just about all shredded lettuce, 1 tomato slice and a dollop of sour cream. During the night I became ill with stomach cramps, headache and chills, all symptoms of e-coli. So I’s wondering how diligent these new waiters are about personal hygiene. All in all, I won’t be going back there again!

Been to Blue Agave at least half a dozen times and can’t believe we haven’t left a review!
Seating is very quick, with fresh chips and salsa following. Drinks are tasty and servers make sure the next one is on it’s way on request. The menu is extensive, so look ahead of time or know what you’re in the mood for. The absolute best entree is the grilled sirloin with bacon wrapped shrimp, rice, refried beans…sides don’t matter. The sirloin is tender and perfect. The vegetarians in the group loved their means as well.
Come for the margs, stay for the sirloin and bacon wrapped shrimp!

I’ve been to both Blue Agave locations in Gahanna and New Albany. The experiences I’ve had at the GAHANNA location exceed this one I had in NA. Unfortunately, the service a friend and I received at this New Albany location wasn’t really service at all. The waitress rushed us the entire time and she pushed us to complete the check so she “ could go on her break”.
Also, the quality of food at the NA location was not nearly as good. The table salsa is more like a sweet marinara, and the kitchen was “cheap” with reduced servings of our entrees.
Finally, the “table side” guacamole was not table side at all. Our waitress refused to do that and brought a separate cup from the kitchen, which took away from that experience.
Moving forward, I will only visit the Gahanna location—never New Albany.

While I have only had the Blue Agave Salad, I was impressed by the overall atmosphere, the options for food and beverages, and the amount of chips given as an appetizer. The place was pretty deserted when I arrived around lunchtime and it took between 5-10 minutes for someone to notice that I had sat at the bar, but the service was accommodating once they noticed me.

The best tableside guacamole! Ask for it a little spicy. All the food is really well done. The staff is always so friendly. I’ve been coming here for years and have never had a bad meal.
I’m not a huge fan of their chips and salsa. The salsa is bland to me and now they’ve taken away salt shakers!
