Blue 53 is convenient and local, which is really its biggest strength. The food is decent and reasonably priced — fine if you don’t want to drive far, but not something you’d recommend to someone visiting from out of town.
What really stood out, though, was the tip suggestion on the check. Starting at 18% and going up to 30% is honestly absurd for a restaurant delivering average food and service. I’ve been to countless restaurants in major cities and high-end areas and haven’t seen tip expectations like this. For this level of quality, tips should realistically fall in the 10%–15% range.
It’s not a bad place — just very average, with tip expectations that don’t match the experience.

It’s just slim pickings around here at lake Monticello! This place is a hit or miss ! Today was a miss! The cheese burger was smaller and just bland ! The fries were inedible! That’s a lot coming from me ! I would have done better at Burger King! A lot better! It took an hour to get poor food! Burger ordered was medium not medium rare ! The onions rings were good but about 7 for $2 ! I love the Satans pony ! Service is good but you can tell they knew the food was bad ! I love local but go to Danny’s! Again Danny’s not much better!! Ambiance was ok ! Just not a good experience! $36.70 for bad food ?

Service was amazing. My daughter the wing expert says the wings were as good as Buffalo Wild Wings (her favorite) and I agree. Being seated was a bit shaky. Told to sit anywhere but the table we needed for our number was still dirty and they were in a down time. Waitress had to teach the bartender how to make a dirty martini. That said, it was very good. The burger I ordered was cooked perfectly and that doesn’t happen often when ordering a burger at a real restaurant.

On Wednesdays Blue 53 have karaoke from 6-9 not to many people know about it so who ever comes enjoys this. The food is really good and it is wonderful to.have dome entertainment while eating. A must come to place.

Nice sports bar with plenty of TVs and distraction. For a lunch stop, it isn’t bad. The Quesadilla burger was a little bland. It didn’t have much seasoning on the beef patty. Another person in my party ordered the cheeseburger and made the same comment. The boneless wings were as expected and the fries and onion rings were all good. Service was good, with frequent checks for drink top-offs and order follow up.

I’m finally doing what the owners of this place refuse to do. Seems crazy but they dont have a menu on their web site, just two pictures of a beer (as of now and in the past). I have posted the menu pictures here for others to use.
This HAS to hurt their business. I’m worried about their survival after stopping by to get this menu specifically for this reason. It was 12:15 on a Friday afternoon and I dont think there was a single customer.
There’s not a lot of “Wow” to the menu but its a decent place to stop by and get some basics…sandwiches, burgers, wings.
Fair warning if you order takeout here. They use Styrofoam containers that steam your food while you take it to wherever you are going to eat it, so anything that WAS crunchy or crispy, including wings (which I’ve had here some years ago and they were tasty) are ruined. They make their own chips here, but they cant survive the takeout containers…fries get limp too.
My advice is to open those containers ASAP, even the instant they are handed to you. Better cool fries than limp ones. This is the reason I dont order takeout from here; even opening the containers the minute I get them to my car…the food is already somewhat steamed. So try to be there the instant the food comes out of the kitchen.
I would say come to the restaurant and order takeout and wait so you can pounce on the packaging and open it right there, but the last time we ate here they weren’t very busy but it still took a long time to get our food to the table, and this is a very basic menu. We’ve had better service in the past, it may have been a kitchen staffing issue that day.
It’s not bad food. Menu is a bit limited for me. We had burgers and they were good. Service was fine.

Went with a good-sized group, got the cowboy burger and blues manifesto brownie for dessert; first of all, take the rest of these reviews into consideration before you visit. Then, go visit! See for yourself. I went in there with 3.7-star expectations, and had a 5-star experience! The food was great, the waiter made great recommendations, they were attentive and prompt with refills, they have a decent craft beer selection on tap (and what looked like a full bar). The place was mostly full when we arrived and everyone seemed to be having a good time. The sports theme throughout was tasteful and not overdone.

I have been here a few times. The place has potential. Service is typically prompt when you sit at the bar. But today I had the most pathetic prime rib sandwich in my entire life. This sandwich that comes “loaded with prime rib” consisted of four pieces of roast beef on a toasted hoagie, for $11. I would just take this sandwich off the menu, rather than disappoint another customer, or charge $2 more and give me 4 more slices of roast beef…I don’t care what you do, but something has to change (I mean unless people really like sad sandwiches…I try not to judge). Luckily there are a few more options in the area for good food.
