We celebrated our anniversary at Blood & Sand, and the entire experience was unforgettable. The moment we walked in, the ambiance set the tone — warm, intimate, and beautifully designed without feeling pretentious. It has that perfect balance of cozy and elevated, where you can relax but still feel like you’re somewhere truly special.

We enjoyed the five-course tasting menu with wine pairings, and every dish was thoughtfully crafted. Highlights for us were the smoky cod chowder, autumn greens, and tender steak, followed by a lovely poached pear and dark chocolate torte. The wines paired perfectly with each course and added so much depth to the meal.

Our server, Liz, was wonderful — attentive, welcoming, and genuinely invested in making our night feel special.

Blood & Sand is the kind of place that turns a dinner into an experience. We left happy, full, and already excited to come back. Highly recommend for any special occasion or a night you want to feel truly taken care of.

I’ve been wanting to go here for a while because of the many good reviews. While the service was good, the food was disappointing. It wasn’t terrible, but it just wasn’t very good either. Compared to other places charging similar prices for wagyu, it felt pretty mid. A couple of appetizers saved the meal.

I have mixed feelings about this place. They list reservations required. We made reservations on a Friday night which only gave us 2 times so we hurried to get ready for 730.

We got there and it was pretty much empty. So my suggestion is remove that statement from everywhere. I also skipped making the reservation because it requires extra steps.

The place is cool looking, industrial and sort of hiding. The broken tiles on the entrance are a sign to me that details are missing.

We were seat quickly and our server was very very into descriptors. Odd but entertaining. Drinks were strangely slow to arrive, strange because there were maybe 3 tables.

The food came out and was good. We picked a few apps and a main dish to share.

They have a tasting option of 5 courses for 100 which seems okay on price.

Overall it’s a cool spot, but the lack of people on a Friday isn’t good.

We did their 10 course tasting menu and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Each was unique from one another and we appreciate when a menu doesn’t have emulsions.
Cocktails all used good quality ingredients and were brought out timely and in appropriate glassware

My party of 3 celebrated a birthday yesterday with a couple cocktails, the 10 course menu and I had the wine pairings. The food was truly top tier in flavor and presentation. The portions were generous. Courses were served in a thoughtful order and pace that reenergized the palate throughout the 3 hour experience. The wines played perfectly. Our only complaint was that being seated by the bar made for some distractions as the manager (Nicole) was kind of brash for the environment. My partner who’s birthday we celebrated and who works in fine dining felt it was unprofessional that the manager shouted things to the bartender a few times from across the space and seemed to be going behind the bar to drink. She expected that the manager might’ve checked in on our table after being so visible otherwise. The cocktail menu had great variety and each was named after a popular song. Our server, Geli, was friendly and attentive without being overbearing. I will be back but if it’s for a long celebration, I’ll request a booth with my reservation.

It’s an amazing place in St. Louis. We went there for our anniversary and tried 10 course tasting meal. Our waiter was very knowledgeable about both the food and wine. The bartenders really know what they doing, I had some amazing cocktails. You will not leave hungry with the tasting menu. Overall one the best meals I have had in the area!

Wonderful 1st time dinning experience last night. Comfortable elegant vibe, 5 course tasting menu was generous, presented well, tasted great (the 4 of us still can’t decide which course was best, they all rocked), and the cocktails were outstanding. But the best part of all was our server, Paige. Talk about a font of knowledge! Her enthusiasm (especially concerning cocktails), her knowledge of the menu (there are many ways to make the Blood & Sand tasting menu and/or al a carte menu work for you) illustrates that the resturant wants you to be happy and will bend over backwards to make that happen. She guided us through the whole dining experience and it really was a great experience. Kudos to the owners, chef(s), bar staff, and of course Paige. The only negative was the on street parking. Wish there was a staffed lot nearby. Great night overall.

I enjoyed the 10 course chefs menu with two other people. The service staff were all impeccable and knowledgeable about the menu which changes regularly. The cocktail menu is extensive and well worth a trip just for that. They also put a nice amount of thought into non alcoholic drinks/mocktails instead of it being an after thought like most restaurants. Dinner was an experience and an astonishing amount of food for the price. Despite that we still added on a few options that looked delicious off the à la cart menu. 10/10 would eat and drink too much here again

Come on, this was a ridiculous foodie experience. Food: excellent flavor and execution. They initially brought us a complimentary amuse bouche ceviche-ish little spoon that was so yummy and interesting. We had the beef poutine, the duck breast, and the beef carpaccio. Excellent all around.
Drinks: Mixology was on point with wonderfully curated menu. We had the coffee coquito and the old fashioned that they smoked on the table
Service: So personable, it was a great part of our experience. Ask for Nicole, tell her that Angelo and Tara from NYC.

Belated birthday celebrations call for something truly special — and Blood and Sand delivered.

This gem has earned its place among Ian Froeb’s Top 100 Restaurants for 2025, and it continues to be one of my absolute favorite dining spots in St. Louis.

We opted for the five-course tasting menu and chose different dishes for each course so we could try nearly everything on the menu—a move I highly recommend. Every course was beautifully presented and bursting with flavor.

We began with two exceptional cocktails: the Short Day and Long Nights and the Misty Mountain Hop—both set the tone perfectly. A delicate amuse bouche followed, and then the real adventure began:
• Course 1: Bison Carpaccio | Frito Misto
• Course 2: Wild Boar Pozole | Frisée Salad
• Course 3: Wagyu Short Rib Poutine | Charred Octopus
• Course 4: Smoked Duck with Rendang | Coffee-Rubbed Elk Tenderloin
• Course 5: Cheesecake | Dark Chocolate Torte

If I had to choose standouts? The Wagyu Short Rib Poutine, Frito Misto, and Dark Chocolate Torte were unforgettable.

The atmosphere is the perfect balance of elevated and cozy, with intimate lighting, warm service, and attention to every detail. Whether you’re celebrating something big or just want a night of top-tier dining, Blood & Sand should absolutely be on your list.
