Great breadsticks, horrible service and dirty store.
My family has loved Anthony’s for many years(followed them through 2 relocations). We recently tried to order at 7 pm on aThursday. When calling the gentleman told us they closed at 8 and “we better not be late” picking up our order. We declined to place the order based on his attitude.
Next day we ordered at 5 pm to make sure we wouldn’t inconvenience them with their 8 pm closing time. While placing the order the order taker took turns screaming at someone in the store while taking our order but we continued to order since we figured maybe he was just overwhelmed. When we went to pick up the order, no one else was in the store and we attempted to pay with a credit card and the machine kept rejecting it. After trying a second card it continued to decline and the kid running the registered went to the manager to say the credit card machine wasn’t working. Response given to the kid was “tell him it’s not us, it’s his card”. We were absolutely sure it wasn’t the card(s), especially when the next customer came in and had the same problem.
Store was very dirty and doesn’t qualify for a “party store” since there was nothing but beer (and paperback books ) for sale.
Really too bad that this iconic pizza place has run itself into the ground. We will miss their breadsticks and cheese dip.

My favorite place for breadstick and the best CHEESE DIP EVER! Pizza and subs are always delicious, the owner has taken great pride im her recipes and they the same they were when I was a kid 25 years ago

What happened to this place? Stopped by to grab some breadsticks and dip, the main thing they advertise selling, and the store itself has emptyish and dirty shelves and looks like it’s about to go out of business. When the counter guy finally decides he’s ready for me despite nobody else in the shop, I’m then told a simple order of breadsticks is going to take at least 25 minutes to make lol.
Like, c’mon, man, I remember being a kid and going to the original location and you waited all of 4 minutes on a busy day.
Something needs to change and quick cause this place is a sucky shell of what used to be the best spot for breadsticks and pizza squares around town.

So I’ve always enjoyed their breadsticks and cheese dip most here but this time I tried their special (we got a slice of their pizza and breadsticks(price wise super fair with an additional slice being 1.89 per slice) trying the pizza for the first time and I’m not a fan Detroit style with the sauce on top but for the first time ever from the sauce on top there were zero complaints of how it made the pizza taste.
Personally if you’re right on money and need a good filling meal or something simple for the kids to locally ride their bike up this pizza place is great(:
Just don’t mind the old building because it doesn’t take from the taste!

Stopped in yesterday for Stix & Dip. Was told 15-20 minutes. No problem, I’ll go wait in the truck, “OK I’ll come get you when they’re done” Waited in the truck, about 20 minutes, no stix. I went back in and was asked if they could help me? The Stix??? Oh yeah. No big deal really, but when I opened the Stix, they were hard and dry, not even the dip could save them! This is the only time in my life I’ve ever had bad Stix. I’m sure they will be good again next time!

I’ve gone to one Anthony’s or another since the early ’80s, We love their Italian subs and breadsticks with the cheese dip. It’s about as no frills as it gets, and I always have a nice conversation with whoever is working there. Ask about Mrs Freshly!
