My wife and I celebrated our anniversary on Thanksgiving night at Blanco Castelar during our weekend visit in CDMX. Our anniversary dinner went above and beyond our expectations from the lovely welcome cocktail at the lobby bar to the numerous complimentary gestures during our dinner from the restaurant wait staff. Special thanks to Antonio and Francisco for their kindness and for making this special night unforgettable. We will be back!

Terrible experience. We booked a romantic Valentine’s dinner which was completely ruined by the lack of communication and poor service.
We were seated at 7:10 and placed our order for drinks, appetizers and main entrees within 15 minutes. Our appetizers were delivered 1.5 hours later. As we were about to leave at 2 hours, they finally arrived with part of our parties main entrees but half of them were missing. They ran out of 2 of the entrees during the our 2 hour wait.
We asked our server multiple times where our food was and was told it would be out in just a few minutes.
At no time did we get an explanation for why the food was delayed. No server or manager ever came to our table to explain what was going on. We had to flag down our server multiple times to get an update.
Overall, a very disappointing experience.

Blanco Castelar never disappoints. The space is stunning, the service is polished, and the food is consistently top-notch. The highlight for me was the jamón Cinco Jotas—perfectly sliced, silky, and packed with flavor. Absolutely worth the visit if you’re in Mexico City.
