Everything was great. Service was wonderful. They were very helpful when I was ordering. The brisket was amazing. I am extremely picky about brisket. I only care for brisket from one other place, and this place is up there with it. I wish they had vanilla ice cream for the peach cobbler. I also tried the sausage, and it great. I would definitely return and try the ribs. I saw one that huge!

I absolutely adore this place and the folks who chow down here! They’re not just about delicious BBQ, they’re all about creating a friendly dining experience. I was even invited to join a lively group at their table! The person sitting next to me kindly snapped some pics as I tackled a colossal 2-pound beef rib. The neighboring tables cheered me on while I savored that meaty marvel, all while listening to some fantastic country music . Talk about an awesome spot! Warm-hearted people, refreshing AC in June Texas, and hands down, the best beef rib you’ll ever sink your teeth into.

Outstanding brisket and hand tied sausage, a must-visit if you are nearby. We’ve been coming for years, but the prices have skyrocketed so we just don’t come as often ($27/lb is really high!) We are getting better at emulating the bark and flavor at home because it really is a model of Texas brisket. So if you can’t smoke or just want to splurge for authentic Texas barbecue, look no where else!

I usually eat at the one in Austin, which is great. I finally made it to the one in Lockheart. I was not disappointed. The Beef Rib was amazing. It’s one of my favorites because you can’t get it just anywhere. It was “fall off the bone Tender”, juicy, and packed with flavor. I also had the green beans and the Mac N Cheese. They all were seasoned perfectly. The staff was friendly, the dining area and bathrooms were clean. It was a great experience.

The original Black’s Barbecue. Finally I made it to Lockhart and tried the original BBQ with brisket, beef ribs, sausage, baby back ribs and a lot of original sides. I loved the authentic atmosphere and all the photos on the walls. The service was awesome with very friendly people working there. Of course I bought some souvenirs for memories. I’ll come back to Black’s soon again!

You have to stop at Black’s barbecue and you are in the area there food has stood the test of time and anyone running a restaurant for almost 90 years and still being in business knows what they are doing and they are making some amazing food. There brisket was amazing and so was there sausage. They also have a ton of sides to choose from which is nice. But I promise that the meat well steal the show every time you eat here. The staff was super nice and we had a great dinning experience at blacks. We can’t wait to go back.

The lady serving the side dishes and dessert was far and away the best thing about Black’s! She was such a sweetheart! The food was fine. I had a sausage sandwich with a side of mac and cheese and some banana pudding for dessert. I really wanted to love the sausage, but I was kind of surprised that it was crumbly. The flavor was good though. The atmosphere is very quaint and interesting. Lots of pictures and lots of history. It’s just one of those places you should go.
