We have now been twice and have been very pleasantly surprised. When we come in town for hunting we try to stop by this establish. The food and stuff are above average for sure. There’s been multiple things on the menu that have surprised us with how delicious they are. The El Paso cheesy chicken dinner has a grilled flavor that is fantastic. The chicken definitely was not dry One of the best chicken dishes we’ve ever had at a restaurant. The side Caesar salad was large and had great flavor. The fries cheese and bacon appetizer was fantastic tasted like a loaded baked potato but with steak fries that were crispy. We’ve had a ribeye there that was pretty good The ribs were only okay. The fresh rolls with whipped butter brought to our table for free are such a lovely treat it’s a fantastic touch. We will definitely be coming back. Steak nachos were pretty good and a large portion.

I had the chicken fajita wrap. Delicious! I had a side order of black beans (huge bowl!) and it came with salsa. So much I brought quite a bit home.

Don’t know how the food was, because we didn’t get served!!!! Sat for 15 minutes or more, waitress went by 3 different times and never even took a drink order.:: and don’t say she was probably busy… because us and one other booth was the only one in her section… there were literally 4 customer in booth area and a family in the bar area… people that got there later than us in other section was already eating .. we walked to the front and told them what was going on, and no one offered to apologize or anything.. Never again!!!! And I will warn folks not to go

Plenty of excellent choices!Steak, chicken , fish, salad, appetizers, dessert etc. The food was delicious! My husband and I shared a fried catfish dinner with 2 sides (baked sweet potato with butter and brown sugar and grilled, seasoned asparagus that was out of this world!) and we were both completely satisfied! The catfish was crispy and the temperature of the meal was perfect. The service was great as well. (The only negative I could possibly mention is that we were sitting near the inside entrance to the bar and every time a waitress went in there (which was too frequent, especially since she wasn’t coming back through with drinks) the loud bar music would blare and fight with the pleasant dinner music we were enjoying.. Honestly, I can’t wait to go back! Well probably ask to be seated away from the bar entrance though..

Read good reviews and wanted something nice for dinner. Black Stallion has quite a variety on their menu. The server, Leslie, was awesome and friendly and did a great job even though she was very busy. We had a large party and she was able to handle it well. The restaurant itself is quite large with several different seating areas. We ordered 3 appetizers, 2 which were great, one not so much. The fried pickles and choriqueso dip were very good. We were disappointed in the cheesy bacon fries. The steak fries didn’t seem fresh. Most people ordered steak of some sort, a few got ribs and a few got burgers and one ordered chicken. The ribs and burgers were excellent. The steak was hit or miss, but it seemed like the ribeye was the best of the steaks ordered. The sides, mostly fries or Mac n cheese were just ok. In the end, we would come back. Everything is good, but it depends what you order.

We have been eating there for several years now, I would usually tell friends and family that the food is great and that it was my favorite Resturant around Monticello, McCreary Co, & Somerset. Today however was a huge disappointment the rolls and salad was good but the entrees were absolutely not. The smell and taste were way off from before we both order dishes that we both have had before and enjoyed. I ordered grilled chicken breast topped with crab meat and asparagus ,the crab was a bad imitation crab that was waxy there was only 4 pieces of asparagus and it wasn’t cooked. The chicken breast definitely wasn’t the same quality as before it was thin and tastes like it had been cooked in the microwave. My husband got the grilled bbq pork chops he only ate 1 bite. We thought we would bring both dishes home. Thinking maybe we could fix it up at home and not waste the food. We had to stop and trash both of them at gas station garbage can cause they stunk so bad we couldn’t ride 45 mins home with them.

I certainly was well pleased with the service, food, and treatment my party received, recently! I want to publicly say, “Thanks”, to the restaurant and the friendly, attentive staff (hostess, servers, cooks, bar staff). I booked a party of 25 for Sunday, 9/14/25…30 persons showed up. The Black Stallion not only had the booking properly reserved, they accommodated the extra persons…seamlessly, as the served us professionally with tasty, well prepared food. I highly recommend this establishment. Again, thanks for delivering in impressive detail and effort.

The entrees and appetizers went cold as soon as it hit the table. The waitress said it was her 2nd day but then said “A week ago someone-“… Very clean, and the TV’s were in Spanish. The burgers were dry and the pasta was bland.
