Tonight was our first trip to the Black Sheep. Its amazing they are coming up on their first year anniversary. Congrats to them.

The place inside is really nice. I loved the wood look. The bar is a nice size U-shape and had plenty of seats.

Our server was very attentive. She took the time to welcome us and review the menu and daily specials.

Sabrina had the potpie soup and 6 bbq-burbon wings. I had 6 hot wings and the “Nettie” (Italian sandwich). Everything was really good especially the wings.

The owners were kind enough to stop by our table for a few words.

We will definitely stop back while we are out on the bike.

Our first time here. I’ve heard good things and they were spot on! The service was great and the food was delicious. But the best part was our waitress, Nakia. She was very friendly, informative and helpful. We enjoyed talking with her. The owner visited with us, sharing the history of the restaurant and previous businesses. It was a very nice evening and we look forward to our next visit!

On my first visit to Black Sheep I was welcomed by the jovial owner. Everything about the place is perfection! Food was incredible. My picky niece was with me and she loved everything. The food, drinks, service, and cleanliness were top notch. The food is made fresh daily. Try the sheep sauce! We had a great time and will be back with our extended family and friends the next time we’re in town.

Great spot. Super friendly staff. Our server, Janelle, was welcoming, warm and down right cool! Wednesday wing flights day was awesome. Pick four flavors to try and I found out that this might be my very favorite wing spot! Need to cross reference with the other place to double check in order to be sure. But hey, come on a Wednesday and you get to have fun with different flavors!!! Maybe this IS my fav wing stop! Just a real super fun lunch. Music playlist was appreciated/nostalgic (70s-80s). Many years ago this place was an actual speakeasy, hence the green door, but don’t keep this place a secret. Enough said, we WILL be back, sorry it took me 9 months to finally stop in.

We have been trying to come here for a few months, but every time we pass by, the parking lot is full (which is a good sign). We live about 35 minutes away, but we kept trying! When we arrived at 7:50, we didn’t realize that the kitchen closes at 8 PM. We walked in anyway, hoping that they would be okay with us cutting it close, and sat at the bar. They immediately started making our drinks and took our order. I got a margarita and my husband ordered draft beer. They informed us that the drinks and food would be on separate checks. Personally, I don’t think it’s as big of a deal as some other reviewers think it is… you just have to sign twice, no biggie! Since we came on a Wednesday, we got 3 wing flights so that we could try every flavor. Overall, the wings and drinks were great! The drinks are a good price for sure and the wings are huge! Our favorite wing flavors were the honey garlic dry rub (the special flavor of the week) and the white lightning. The bartenders and servers were super friendly. While we were eating we had both bartenders and a cook check in to make sure everything was good, and when we were done two of the owners (?) asked how we liked the wings. They thanked everyone who left for coming and were nothing but nice the entire time we were there. The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming. We will come back to try other items on the menu (which we browsed while waiting for our food); everything on the menu sounded really yummy!

This is my new ‘must-visit-weekly’ restaurant! You feel like part of the family the second you walk in, and it’s great to see the owners so involved, even if they’re non-stop!! The decor and atmosphere are comfortable, eclectic and tasteful.
The wings are 100% worth the hype—every sauce is a hit.. Just a warning>> wing night Wednesdays ARE CRAZY so be prepared to wait‼️
They’re doing an amazing job for a place that just opened. This place is a gem, so don’t pay attention to the Karen and Ken’s who want everything perfect, they need to keep their negativity at home!!

Loved the ambiance & service. Janelle was amazing, funny. Suggested sold, checked on us, was the type of server that you don’t see much anymore. The history of the building has charm to it, however the complete package doesn’t quite bring it all together. I recommend increasing quality by going super simple & leaning into the historic record. The ham sandwich should probably be your biggest seller, if people were sold on the experience. The food was very basic, tbh over priced both in portion & quality. Wings were decent however nothing would distinguish “the best of Berks” from any other bar or restaurant. BBQ, marinara & BC were from jugs/cans. The app sampler was very small & none of the items were homemade that I could tell. While this may seem a little harsh it is fair/appropriate based on the cost. $9 beer. The 2 checks (1 for food, 1 for alcohol) is odd, clunky. As quasi-explained by the owner, I’ve NEVER heard of this & I’ve been an operator my entire life. Just odd… To the owners, this is a great review so I’d like to leave you with a little advice. Keep your responses simple, both to good, negative feedback it. A simple thank you, we will do our best to improve, continue. For those thinking about coming here. The food is alright, the history & ambiance is decent, the service at least my experience is the draw. Give it a try, make your own opinions.

I have been to Black Sheep Tavern quite a few times now over the last two months, each and every time I am greeted with welcoming hello’s and some great humor. Most days I am there for work as Black Sheep is doing an amazing thing by giving back to the community by allowing students with disabilities from a local program to come in and get hands on job shadowing to help build employable skills. Truly the owners are one of a kind and have caring hearts. Each time we have gone with my family we have had a great experience, food is always delicious and the drinks – top notch! If you haven’t gotten the chance, definitely give them a try. The atmosphere and history is amazing!

This place is amazing!!! The food is delicious and is a great portion! I got the Cotton Candy Crush mocktail, and it was absolutely delicious!! I also loved the Bulger Chicken sandwich, the sheep sauce is a homemade house sauce with incredible flavor! The service is just as great! The waitress checked on us multiple times and always made sure our drinks were filled and had everything we needed!! Definitely check this place out!

We kept passing by a lot, each time the parking lot was full. So we kept passing by. It just so happened we passed by and the parking lot had plenty of parking let. The staff is amazing, the bartender was known to us from another Restaurant and remembered us.the menu has some variations and it is refeshing to try something different. The meatloaf certainly is different, but great. The burger was amazing as well. Yes now we know, why this place is full all the time. Great place, great food, great staff…certainly we will be back very soon.
