Our story began in 2008 inside a 160sq ft drive – thru in Beaverton, Oregon. Founded by family, rooted in hospitality, and driven by a desire to bring light to the grey PNW mornings, we set out to build something simple but meaningful – a place where coffee could fuel connection.

Slowest Black Rock Everrrrr. But here’s my real gripe. The coffee is NEVER the same and about 90% of the time it tastes burnt. The baristas are always nice, that’s the one thing this location has going for them. If I have time, I go out of my way to Oregon City Dutch bros – where they are quick and the coffee is consistent.

I love the coffee. Staff are friendly but talk to each other more than the customers. I don’t carry cash so I always pay with card. The tablet feels absolutely gross, filled with finger prints and stickiness. This last weekend I mentioned they need to clean it because it was always dirty. They said they clean it at the end of the day. Once a day?? That is a hard pass. The Black Rock location up the street has a clean tablet so I will drive farther to go there.

Slowest service out of anywhere. You can order a drink online, still have to wait 30 mins to get it. You can sit in the same spot in line for 15 minutes without moving a car length. Fix your processes please.

The drinks are always tasty.
The service here is usually pretty good but it can be a very slow process regardless of if there’s a long or short line of cars. I know a couple of times we’ve gone they were obviously short staffed but other times there have been several employees and the line still moves slow. I have the app and placed my pick up order for 3 drinks but when I got there to pick them up I realized for the first time that there’s no walk up/pick up window in use so even if you place a pick up order you still have to wait in line to get it. The last time I placed a pick up order (not the last time I went) I ordered from home, it took probably 8-12 minutes to get there and the app said to give them 10 minutes to have the order ready for pickup. That was the time I realized there’s no pick up window. The 2 lines of cars were both long so by the time we sat and waited through all the other cars ordering it had been almost 35 minutes since the app estimated my order would be ready. And when we got to the window they still had to finish making our drinks. At that point I was glad they hadn’t had our order ready and waiting for 35 minutes to get all melted.
I feel like Black Rock needs to figure out what isn’t working in their process that slows everything down so much. I never go to Black Rock before work or any time I am on a schedule because I can’t afford to get stuck in a line waiting for 20+minutes but I do like their drinks and I still go occasionally on my weekends when it doesn’t matter how long it takes. I don’t think this is an employee problem they’re all doing their best when we go so it has to be something in the process they use or a training issue, I don’t know but I do know that every other coffee drive through I use is really fast even with ridiculously long lines and most have a walk up window for to go orders or people without cars.

I was a little shocked at how unfriendly the blonde woman was. Told her 2 times what my order was and she did fix it but treated me as if we said something horrible. Went there 10/19/2025 at 12:40 pm

Awesome little place for coffee. Half the price of Starbucks, yet much more tasty. The employees play music and all seem their having fun, unlike the stressed our version at the other place. Here, they’re really nice and aim to please. I always ask for special and they’re very attentive. I am a true regular.

I used to love coming to this black rock as a part of my morning routine, but unfortunately, the last few times I’ve gone the service has been beyond slow. I love the upbeat and casual nature of the place but when I have to wait for my drink, so the baristas inside can tell their story about who they hooked up with the night before or who came through the line earlier that morning that they don’t like. I don’t really personally wanna hear those details when I want my morning coffee. Gonna have to find a new spot 🙁

Blackrock is definitely my favorite coffee place, the coffee is always smooth and doesn’t have that bitter burnt taste that Dutch Bros has. They don’t put in too much ice like Starbucks does. The little coffee kiosks all over town are hit and miss. Black Rock is very consistent and very good. I also love that you can still use your phone number and you do not have to use the app to get the rewards like a free coffee. Starbucks made it difficult to get any rewards anymore.

I go to this black rock because it’s close to my work. The drinks are rated as 5 stars. But please! Why do I have to wait 10+ minutes for my drinks when there are 3 cars in front of me? Also have to agree with other reviewers that music is kind of loud. The two stars are taken away due to long wait and loud music. Otherwise drinks are 5 stars.
