The maple bacon chicken cutlet sandwich. They should change the name to Mona Lisa because this is a masterpiece! Truly exceptional in all facets of deliciousness, atmosphere, and service. The staff is truly exceptional, I couldn’t ask for a better experience.

My partner and I just had an amazing experience at the new Black Radish at 14th Star. When you first come in it’s best to grab a table so you have a table number because they bring your food right out to you. We had the Chicken tenders with dilly ranch (an excellent combo of mayo, buttermilk and fresh herbs). The Korean BBQ pork meatballs, waffle sweet potato fries and the house wagyu burger. The tenders were crispy and delicious. The Korean BBQ pork meatballs were excellent and we would definitely get them again. The burger was superb with the tomato jam and garlic aioli. Lastly, Stacy the owener came over to check on how things were and we had a very pleasant conversation about food and she is clearly passionate about providing an excellent experience for guests. It’s very nice to have another wonderful place to eat in St Albans.

I have traveled to several craft breweries and the quality of the food from black radish is outstanding. If you are visiting the area, I highly recommend stopping by for a beer and a bite. can’t wait to come back! Good brews, people and vibes.

I ate here the other night with a friend. I got the duck fries and a burger. The food was excellent. Unfortunately the “ service “ consisted of ordering from a counter, not a server coming to our table. The woman behind the counter looked and acted like we were bothering her. I find this interesting since we were the only customers in the food section of the place. I use the words food section and not restaurant intentionally. The atmosphere is bleak and uninviting. Uncomfortable metal tables. No decor at all. It feels like an afterthought for the bar it’s attached to. Or a place to wait to get take out food. It really is a shame as the food is excellent. I will only return for take out. I think this place will have trouble surviving as a “ restaurant “ in the long run.

We were passing through and stopped for dinner after checking the reviews. After walking in, we stood near the bar waiting to be greeted or acknowledged. Nothing. The female bartender looked at us twice and never acknowledged us. An employee who appeared to be clocking out looked at us as she left. Another employee walked around us. Crickets. The place was not busy: a few people at the bar and at tables.

After standing there awkwardly several minutes, we left. Perhaps the food is good. However we drove down the street to Twiggs American Gastropub for a really nice dinner.

Had the coconut shrimp a week ago. A smash burger today. Terrific pub food.
*** Refreshing… Looks like these folks are really going the extra mile. Does not feel like much of the food started at CISCO!

We visited Black Radish yesterday for the first time after reading all of the great reviews on Google. The inside has a cool look, the decor is what you’d expect from a Brewery / Pub- large bar, view of the brewery operation, tables scattered around. We sat down not knowing that you had to order both your food and drinks in two separate locations. Maybe we missed it but we did not see a sign explaining the process. We ordered our food first, wings, burgers, fries, and a salad. Again, not familiar with the service we did not realize we had to grab our own plates and napkins. While we were waiting for the food we joined the long line for drinks at the bar. Only one bartender on a Friday evening which really slowed things down. The bartender was friendly but was overwhelmed serving those in line and the customers sitting at the bar. After getting our drinks we sat down and waited for our food which was delivered a few minutes later. The servers were friendly and checked a few minutes later to ensure the food was good and we had everything we needed. The wings were delicious, crispy as we requested with a mild but flavorful buffalo sauce. The smash burgers were juicy and seasoned well, caramelized crust with a perfect tomato jelly. Fries were excellent, crispy and also well seasoned. The salad was fresh and we were happy that there was no up charge as a side like most restaurants will do. As we were enjoying our meals we both would have liked to get more drinks but the line was too long and it made it unappealing, so we left after eating our dinner.

Overall we liked but not loved our experience at Black Radish. The food was fantastic but the seating (not comfortable) and service flow (long line at the bar) was disappointing. We would have eaten outside but it did not look organized or appealing as there were people smoking and scattered around. My wife was excited to order local wines but there were none available. Black Radish has a lot of potential but just could use a few adjustments to excel!

I do like that the Brewery is Veteran owned so added a 4th star.

My husband and I decided to try Black Radish about a month or so ago after having been fans of Grazers. Being big fans of takeout as well but finding they didn’t have a phone number yet we decided one lazy weekend evening to drive up to place an order and wait for it. Not only was the wait not long at all, I took their suggestion to order the Korean meatballs (which historically I do not prefer) and boy am I glad I did. I’ve driven there nearly every weekend since just to order and wait for those meatballs. We’ve also tried their brussel sprouts, smash burgers, pub chips and dip (amazing chips, amazing dip), and maple churros. We love all of it and the quality has been consistently good since the first time we ordered.

In my personal opinion, if you liked Grazers you will love Black Radish (and if you’re me you like it even more). Great burgers still but a bigger variety of options for folks like me who don’t always want to order burgers and typical pub foods. I’ve also had nothing but great service, particularly from the owner who is up at the counter working alongside all of the very pleasant workers I’ve encountered. I almost don’t want to tell others because I want those damn meatballs for myself, but I want this place to do well and stick around. Please check it out and enjoy!
