One of our first restaurants we went to when we moved to the area. We continue to enjoy this location, we have tried other locations across Frederick County too, for the food and atmosphere.
Their catering options are a good addition to any get together, your guests will ensure clean-up is a breeze as they will eat it all.
When dining in they have a nice bar and seating. All the staff are attentive and kind, we have not had a bad experience here.
Highly recommend stopping in, only recommendation is wanting the side salad back. Sometimes a little extra veggies with all that amazing meat is nice. They still offer a it is just not a side option. Sometimes it gets a little loud, but that is becuase it is popular.

Stopped in for an early dinner today (11/22) and thoroughly enjoyed my meal. The 1/2 Sicilian Chicken was seasoned well and cooked perfectly. You also cannot go wrong with Carol’s Tater Salad and the Southern Greens!! Service was also friendly and quick. Looking forward to returning soon!

This is our favorite BBQ place in the area. The food is always hot & delicious and the servings are a good size. You definitely do not leave hungry…lol! We have always had fast and friendly service. We love their Texas brisket and their smoked ham. My husband enjoys their potatoe salad and mac & cheese. The baked beans are my favorite side. If you like good BBQ, give this place a try!!

I visited on Sunday night, about an hour before closing. The kitchen staff was already busy cleaning and shutting things down, and several side items were unavailable. I ordered the Texas brisket with fries, but the brisket was dry—not fresh or juicy. The cashier seemed more focused on closing the kitchen than taking my order, and I had to adjust my meal because they were out of coleslaw. Overall, the service and food were average, and the $18 price tag for a dry sandwich didn’t feel justified. I’d rather go to Mission BBQ than return to this spot.

Simply put its been our favorite BBQ place for years. Every time we are out in Frederick we hit one. Finally hit the Urbana store. Great smoked food. Sweet potatoes. Almost everything is gluten free

Black Hog in Urbana was excellent. I used to eat there often and it was a pleasure. The food was good and the attendants the best. Now, I order for pickup. I am sure the attendants are still the best. However, the brisket, even when we order moist and fat, is dry, very dry. Something changed. I could finish a moist and fat brisket sandwich in no time. Now, it is a sacrifice that lasts a long time. It is terribly dry. Please fix it.

Got the brisket and pulled pork. Not bad for a quick hit.

The food came out pretty quickly and was hot and fresh. Our waiter was very attentive. There were 10 of us in our group and everyone left full and happy.

I have been going to Black Hog since they opened in downtown frederick. I just went to the Urbana location and got a pound of brisket I asked them not to serve me hard pieces and not to have any fat I asked for lean I get home and I have a box full of pieces with nothing but fat on them. You just lost a customer for sure. I was your biggest supporter for years until tonight. To expensive for a box of pieces and fat. No longer will I recommend this place.
