Now onto the service, we was lucky to come in at a quiet time, we spoke with who I believed to be the owner. He was ever so kind and friendly, made us feel comfortable and relaxed. It was our first night ever together as husband and wife without our children. And it was just so wonderful.
As for the food…. Absolutely DELICIOUS. Everything was prepared to perfection. Presentation was beautiful. We are so full!! Each mouthful was exquisite! I highly recommend. And have already recommended to friends!!!! We look forward to returning very soon. Thankyou for such a wonderful evening.
Credit to Black Ginger!
Best wishes & Thank you.

We started with poppadoms and onion bhajis which were fantastic. For main I ordered a chicken korma and a chicken tikka masala.
The masala was completely liquid and tasted of nothing – it was as if something had been left out of the recipe. The korma also unfortunately lacked flavour too.
I don’t review regularly and don’t want this to come off as having a moan online – but honestly the food was not up to standard on this visit.
I went for my staple order—Chicken Tikka Biryani with added green chillies, vegetable curry Madras hot, and a chilli keema naan. I always judge a new Indian restaurant by how well they prepare these dishes, and Black Ginger nailed it. The portion sizes were generous, the food was fresh, full of deep flavour, and—importantly—not overly greasy or drowning in oil.
Yes, they currently have a 4-star food hygiene rating, but based on my experience, the food and service were spot on. If they keep up this standard (or improve even further), I’ll definitely be back and will recommend them to others. A solid curry house worth trying. Good Luck guys.
Opening time for a new Curry House in Warsash and with smart new decor this establishment did not disappoint.
The food was freshly prepared and tasty.
Portions are well sized and ample to fill those rumblings.
Usual fare on the menu but sauces are thick and tasty not watery curry smothering.
Staff and Management are attentive and quick to respond with a great table service.
Wine is poured liberally by the glass and we’ll worth the visit.
Decor is fresh and brings a fancy feel with Gold Leaf trimmings to bring the class without being pretentious.
All in all a great experience and will definitely be back to this clean and well run establishment.
Our group ordered a variety of dishes, each of which was beautifully prepared. The food was flavorful, well-seasoned, and refreshingly light—nothing felt overly greasy or heavy. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meal.
A special touch was the staff singing “Happy Birthday,” which added a memorable and personal element to the evening.
Overall, a fantastic experience—thank you for a wonderful night.
aloo and bits. It was ok, but frankly disappointing. If you’ve been to places like Mezbaan or Sanja it’s hard to accept anything below those standards. Probably won’t be back
The draft cobra tasted a bit funny, but the owner switched us to bottles with no argument.
BG has definitely become my go-to local curry house
