It does get BUSY during the live music events so get there early!!!
We started out with the okra and pickles. These are fried and fried pretty well. They are served with a sauce that tastes like a fancy Big Mac sauce, tasty. The downside of this appetizer is the okra. I’m not sure where they got the idea of frying okra whole was the way it’s done, but they missed the mark. The pickles were great.
For our meals, I had the southern fried chicken. It was fried well and quite tasty. The collard greens were off, a lot. Granted, I’m more of a turnip greens kind of guy, but these were bad. The Mac and cheese tasted and felt like a boxed cheese.
My honey had the jambalaya. It was quite good, several large shrimp and plenty of sausage. It was well seasoned.
Because I had to, I tried the gumbo. I’m going to tell you, this was the star of the show. I’ve had a lot of gumbo in Louisiana, and this was by far the best I’ve had. A bit of good ole Crystal hot sauce, and this dish was perfect. Next time, I’m just getting a bowl of gumbo.
The corn bread was good. My honey loved it, I thought it was okay. It’s a very sweet cornbread, so if that’s not your thing, you’ll be in the same boat as I.
The atmosphere is amazing. We will be back when they have live music, I can see being a fun place so spend an evening.
Sally’s Pig Out: pulled pork, ribs, sausage, cheddar grits, red beans & rice, cornbread (I had to grab it to go, just picture it all perfectly plated )

This Polished (but not too much that it loses its Rawness) Joint is the HOPE Diamond.
Easily Worth the 4.5 hour drive!
Just walking up to this establishment, you automatically get cooler. The outdoor signage and storefront are visual delight.
You walk a little slower there’s so much to see, it reminds me of my backyard.

Bobby “Side” Burns & Family!
I liked the menu selection, and the food would have been really tasty if it was fresh and not so dry. I was disappointed with the BBQ chicken and the Ribs. They were definitely not fresh but tasted stale.
The sweet potatoe fries, corn bread, and rice and black beans were nice, though.
