With a talent for cooking excellent pizzas and a love of serving the community, owners Nick and Jessica built Black Dog Pizzeria from the ground up into the charmingly quirky pizza shop that it is today. From our little family to yours, we not only take pride in the scratch-made food we make but also joy in the creativity of the creations we cook and share with our community. Our pizzeria was made with the encouragement and support of our amazing friends, family, and neighbors. The shop is our favorite place to be!

First things first, I love the decor, its werid and fun. I’ve been wanting to try this place for a while, and the pizza is soooooo good. 16 inch old world pep pizza, garlic cheese sticks and hot doggone chicken pizza. Staff were very friendly and nice, and while there isnt a ton of seating there are games you can play while there. The ny style was amazing, nice bite to the crust and the sauce isn’t sweet, which is a huge win for me! The chicken pizza had a nice smokey flavor and had a ranch base which was really good. The garlic cheese sticks were strong on the garlic flavor, which I liked! All around a great experience, will definitely come back to try other items on the menu!

So I decided to check out some of the Diamond star restaurants for the Columbus area and I love pizza so I decided to come check out the black Dog pizzeria i’m not sure what the gentleman‘s name was at the counter, but it was right before I put this post in. He will know who he is. I told him I was in town from Destin, Florida, but he did an amazing job of helping me pick out what pizza to get since I’ve never been there before. The cheese breadsticks are amazing and the spinoff of the barbecue chicken pizza was delicious and to top it off of some buckeye pie by the way Go Irish!! thanks guys. I’ll definitely be back.

We’ve wanted to try Black Dog pizza and their famous garlic knots for a while now. Had the chance to go sit down and it was very busy and has virtually no seating. That’s OK. The garlic knots were outstanding. Very worthy of their praise. The pizza, and I’m being honest was OK. Way too greasy and we got the ricotta and meatballs. Something that shouldn’t be super greasy but it was. If they want to improve their pies, I’d figure out how to make them not so greasy. Over hyped pizza but definitely great garlic knots.

Very disappointed. Such a waste of potential. First, the wings were not good (fast food pizza chains have way better wings, heck I suggest you cut costs and get Costco frozen wings. It would be worlds better.) Second and most importantly the pizza. Too much pepperoni. I get that people really like it, but bc there is so much pepperoni the dough becomes wet (wasted potential). I say this because the dough is so incredibly good. HOWEVER, 92% of it is wet and mushy due to the grease (inedible). If you would use 70% less pepperoni you would not only cut costs, but might POTENTIALLY have an incredible pizza where I can enjoy the tasty dough (trust me, people definitely push off a significant amount of pepperoni off the pie before eating it, bc it’s too much). I’m very sad.

There’s plenty of pizza places in Columbus, but Black Dog has something special. I think when people enjoy their job and the people they work for, it comes across in the product.
Ended up getting two sandwiches and some wings and you could just tell the folks working there, including the owner or manager (wasnt sure who he was!), was having a good time.
Got the meatball sub and Italian sub and both were great. Wings were traditional with Carolina gold and they were a good size for the price and sauced well.
The place had a constant line of folks doing pickup and I think thats for very good reason!

First time trying this place out and it was very delicious! Small place with most orders being takeout but had a couple tables inside and outside if you wanted to sit down and eat. We ordered the garlic knots, which were very good, and had the doggone hot chicken pizza. That pizza was very good, crispy, and had a nice smoky ranch sauce on top. Highly recommend and will have again!

First time there. We didn’t realize it was only carryout and delivery. (Should’ve paid attention to the website. Lol) There were tables outside so it all worked out. Our table tried 4 different ones. We enjoyed them all. We did find the chicken a little tough on the Saint Bernard pizza. But this is definitely on our list to return to. We will be back.

I ordered a mushroom & bell pepper pie which was good. I also ordered a Gluten-free pie with chicken/EVOO that was paper thin, cardboard tasting w/chunks of meat that appear were thrown in the box. The bottom was burnt & too crispy for my son to eat more than 1 slice. Very disappointed being it was our first time trying Black Dog. The wait was also longer than what app said.

This small pizza place has the best flavors of pizza. They have a Carolina gold pizza with chicken, bacon and red onions that is so delicious I dream about it and it makes my mouth water. Reasonably priced and great service.
