This place is incredibly beautiful with views of snow capped mountains in the distance and a meadow with a creek and ponds right at the edge of the outdoor seating area.
The building is very open and upscale with some knickknacks and lots of windows to take in the scenery.
OUr food was unbelievably good. We both ordered the Cranberry Turkey Pesto, mine with a salad and my wife’s with the sweet potato tots. Starting with a quality turkey is always important, but they didn’t cut costs on the sourdough or the cranberry sauce and the pesto was buttery smooth and rich. I wouldn’t have thought to put cranberry with pesto but it totally works.
And eating it in these surroundings made it just taste better.

They hands down had the best burger I have ever had in my life. The fries were also incredible. Everything was also around 12 dollars, which for this quality of food is worth it. Customer service was also very good, everyone was kind and informal. I beg you to order a burger and fries!

We visited twice in the past week and experienced the same service from the same server, who checked us out at the register and also served our food. From the moment we ordered, the interaction was curt, tight, and unwelcoming. The receipt was dropped on the counter to sign, and when the pizza was delivered it was set down so abruptly that the person with me asked, ‘Did she just throw the pizza at us?’
Immediately after, cleaning began with chairs being slammed around the dining area. One chair struck the window hard enough to startle both the person handling it and other guests in the restaurant.
I returned again a few days later and encountered the same behavior: clipped responses and the receipt again dropped on the counter. After I left no tip, there was a noticeable change in demeanor, but when the food was brought out the interaction reverted to a tense, accusatory tone directed at the customer rather than professional.
This is a high-end resort, and service should feel professional and welcoming. The food itself was fine, but the service experience needs serious attention.

Great views! Breakfast will set you back $15 a person, but full breakfast was fresh and creative. Excellent drip coffee. We had breakfast burrito and chicken fried steak. Not crowded 10 am Thursday in January.

Stayed a night here for our anniversary! Rooms could use some updating, and new bedspreads, ours was torn. And our screen sliding door was broken. Other than that the Ranch/resort was beyond beautiful, fantastic views, friendly staff, great amenities on both ends of the resort. Food was great too! Definitely recommend visiting here if you want some time away. Winters are slow, and summers are busy. Great place for families too!

If you blink, you will miss the turn to this amazing Bistro! It is my newest day trip! My Dad managed this resort 30 years ago, and it was the best summer of my childhood. Just my bike, It’s Its, and the bistro. It is still the best place to go and recenter! They have added a pizza oven with fresh basil and mozzarella! The perfect trip whether it is for lunch or a month. I can’t wait to go back!

Everyone there is exceptionally and friendly and so accommodating!
We ordered plain and pepperoni and the pizza is delicious and loaded with cheese. The pepperoni is really tasty too. Since Summer began (after June 21) their hours are great, closing at 9 pm.
It’s a wonderful bistro in the heart of Back Butte Resort. It is connected to a beautiful infinity pool, hot tub, activity center, and bike rentals. The Bistro has a nice gift shop too.
And there are some AMAZING sunsets that can be viewed from there, casting beautiful colors over the mountains and unique cloud formations.
For a quick snack or a meal, definitely make a stop at the Bistro.

One of my favorite place at the Black Butte Ranch it is beautiful and the view is breath taking i can sit outside and enjoy the mountains while sipping my latte , pastry and food was good too. Big thumbs up for the WiFi too! If your out there you’ll know what I’m talking about lol I never appreciate WiFi that much
