We stopped here for an early lunch and we LOVED it! ❤️ The coffee was good and we had a Street Corn Cobb salad bowl (w/o greens) and Steak Chimichurri bowl and they were both hearty and delish! Absolutely love the vibes at Black and Brew’s Southside location! The atmosphere here is so friendly and inviting—perfect spot to relax or catch up with friends. The staff is always super attentive and upbeat, making every visit a pleasure. I ordered the Granola Bowl – Peanut Butter Bowl (peanut butter yogurt, house-made granola, banana, chocolate chips & local honey), and it was fresh and delicious. Paired it with a smooth Latte and their banana and chocolate bread—everything tasted amazing. Can’t wait to come back!

I visited today expecting to enjoy a good cup of coffee. Ito begin with they need to train their baristas because they rush the coffee making process mine was burnt; the espresso and the foam, obviously no shape on the foam because they don’t know how to foam the milk, I told them and they kindly offered to redo it, and the second one was the same,so I realized it’s a system problem, cheap quality coffee beans and poorly trained baristas. They should try getting a better coffee provider. You can mask bad quality coffee with syrups and sugar, but I don’t have sugar on my coffee and being a coffee snob, I can tell the difference. I only went there because it’s was Sunday and a better coffee shop in the area was closed, but at this point for burnt espresso I better just go to a chain coffee shop. They may consider getting Ethos coffee, they sell exceptional coffee beans and many coffee shops around use them, but I guess this store is too cheap for that.

Got there at 10:15 inside and patio fairly empty compared to when I usually stop by. Ordered two black coffees and a vanilla latte. Took my two family members new to town, raving about how it’s my fav coffee spot. There was one person in line in front of us. We placed our orders no mention of the machines being down or the fact that they were apparently extremely behind. At 10:45 went in to check on the orders. Let’s be real 30 minutes for two coffees and a latte is insane. At 11:17 I finally requested a refund-AN HOUR AFTER ORDERING. The customer service was awful. Just kept hearing “we are backed up” if that’s the case when I walk in you should probably be notifying your guests it’s going to be over an hour wait for a simple two coffee one latte order. While waiting for my refund the girl tapped some buttons on the computer and said nothing, and walked away starting new tasks. so as I’m standing there waiting I had to flag the girl down AGAIN to say hey did you process the refund no one said anything or provided a receipt? Finally got a receipt for a voided order. Such a discombobulated nightmare in there people waiting on drinks saw people getting incorrect drinks. When your system is this much of a nightmare it’s time for a manager to step in shut down online orders momentarily or something. There was genuinely no customer service skills or business acumen happening. I’m embarrassed I brought new people to town to check out this spot. Will genuinely never be back-it’s one thing to have a nightmare of a backed up disorganized system-it’s a whole different situation when there’s no communication, responsibility, or customer service skills to accommodate/apologize.

I can’t make a trip to Lakeland without stopping by Black & Brew!! We love hanging out & relaxing on their locations with porches for lunch, with our pup or mobile ordering drive thru pickup. The staff always provides friendly & caring service. They are very knowledgeable & share their recommendations for the best B&B experience. I got the cereal milk shaken espresso & it is hands-down the best cereal milk latte I have had anywhere! Thank you 🙂
