I understand you can’t please everyone but idk imo maybe lean into the goth thing a little more and I promise people will come from far and wide like we did. A lot of people are tired of every bar being a sports bar or the same old “modern rustic” thing and while it wasn’t really either of those, we were hoping this would be an escape but it was just another normal sort of expensive random bar with nothing really interesting going on.
The idea is there and it’s so close but the execution is kinda … meh..
Honestly it was mostly the music choice. That can totally make or break a vibe. I don’t know what was going on with that but it definitely killed the mood.
We did order food earlier in the evening and I’ll admit that it was probably the worst food I’ve ever eaten out. I know none of us will probably never eat there, but we would definitely back for Latin night.
I did get the mac & cheese and the flavor was good, but I feel like it was missing something texture wise.
The service was also great. Kevin was very nice and I can’t wait to go back .
If you are coming though, be mindful, it is only off street parking however I was able to find a spot close easily but I did come early
I highly recommended to anyone it’s especially good if you have friends with different dietary needs there’s something for everybody
We are a vegan family of 5, here’s our order:
Vegan Caesar Salad
Vegan Chik’n sandwich with fries
Vegan BBQ wings with fries
Vegan Mac-n-cheeze with chili
Vegan Fettuccine Bolognese
The salad was good even though it’s just romaine and croutons, the dressing is flavorful and made the salad delicious. A good portion too. Our children had the Chik’n sandwich and they said it was ok. It has pineapples in it, so it threw them off. Our kids ended up sharing, so it was a good size.
The bbq wings were the best and a good portion for an appetizer!! Made with seitan and is crispy! Hubby loved it. I had the Mac with chili and it was flavorful and gave a cozy feeling.
The fettuccine bolognese was not up to par. Not much flavor, but a huge portion.
We would definitely return and try dine in.
Very disappointed.
Was a birthday dinner for my wife.
Restaurant was cold. A van was idling in the driveway which filled the restaurant with fumes.
2 in our party ordered salmon.
Fish wasn’t fresh, had a foul taste and was cold.
Most of the dishes ordered were lukewarm at best.
Not returning.
Good beer, a few local choices from Weyerbacher on tap.
Taco Tuesday, 2 for 5.
Very nice, old downtown place, with stunning architectural elements, great design, dim lighting, and hand-carved wooden furniture. This type of place is the reason I live around here. True staples of the community, and so happy to support.
