We were seated right away but they were busy, so we didn’t get our meals for more than 1/2 hour. (Not a fast food restaurant of course!) The veggie omelet was full of veggies, and the toast was served dry as ordered. The fruit bowl was mostly melon. The over-easy eggs were a bit too easy with runny/ stringy whites, and the well-done bacon that was ordered was partially cooked – the fat was overly plentiful and still floppy/white. The waffle was cute with a bear paw imprint, and was very good.

My first time visiting Black beer diner wasn’t highly impressionable unfortunately. The food was pretty decent but there were moths flying around which doesn’t seem to be the environment most would wanna experience while eating at a restaurant. Service was ok nothing worthy of another star. I’d love to give this chain another chance at some point just not sure it’ll be this location specifically.

This was my 2nd or 3rd time at a black bear restaurant and it was excellent service and a really great salad. We were traveling North on Interstate 5 and it was an easy off and easy back on. (Redding, CA)

the food. It was simply delicious! The menu offered a variety of tasty dishes that were satisfying and full of flavor. The portions were generous, which was a pleasant surprise considering the reasonable prices.

Like another reviewer, we also had a bug issue, but ours was a fly. The food was OK. Nothing wrong with it, but nothing spectacular either.

I was warned that the quality of this restaurant was not what it used to be anymore but we decided to try anyways after some years away. Unfortunately what we heard was true. The hosts were not very friendly, we were not greeted warmly or sat at our table with much care. Our server did great, hence the three stars but the food was just not good. It all sounds great on the menu but when we got our food our bacon quickly turned cold to the touch and was very tough and difficult to chew which indicated it had been cooked a while ago and sat under a warmer. My blackberry stuffed french toast was also pretty chewy and touch so I assume this must be the way they run things in the kitchen. Cooking things way ahead of time and letting them sit, unfortunately it takes the quality away from the food and I could barely eat it. The orange juice we ordered I could tell was high quality and fresh squeezed, otherwise I would’ve given one or two stars. I will not be eating at this restaurant again.

I love to eat at Black Bear Diner in Redding CA!! The food is always real good, but most of all there are 2 waitresses that have the best customer service. I’ve had Rebecca in the evenings and Wendy during the daytime. They are both very hard workers and they are excellent servers.

Food was what you might expect from a diner. It was hearty and heavy, but yummy. The coffee was outstanding (I recommend the bottomless coldbrew). The service staff was very welcoming and quick. Even those not clocked in kept us company while we waited for a table.
