Dont Matter
We had an excellent visit here. The service was excellent and the food was great, portions were huge. They kept the coffee flowing, we couldn’t have been happier with everything. We will come back for more brunches!

I went for brunch with my family and got the Denver omelet with a biscuit and hash browns. Every single thing was absolutely delicious and my family all thought the same of their food. I don’t know if the biscuits are homemade there or not but they sure tasted like they were. I would go back for that alone. The service was excellent.

Our waitress was helpful being our first time, I informed what I’d like to have and she gave great suggestions. The menu is a newspaper given when seated which is different yet neat germ wise. Our food arrived 15mins after ordering which was well prepared and plated. The Black Bear Dinner was recommended for breakfast and the Black Bear Dinner was right on time serving breakfast, lunch and dinner from open to close with a few exceptions.

The staff is always friendly when I visit around lunch. The menu is vast and presents many choices. I find that their breakfast has been better than other menu options. I also discovered you can swap pancaked for French toast, what an upgrade! I tried the meatloaf and will be sticking to breakfast. It was mushy like canned meat and not full and textured like most meatloaf. Great spot for quick service, a friendly staff and good breakfast food. They are usually prettt busy on weekends and that makes the wait quite a bit longer. Prepare appropriately.

This was a pleasant surprise…this is a bucket list diner. Google maps recommended this diner and I’m so glad we went. The biscuits are hand made treasure, and the gravy . My omelette was perfection on a plate. The hash browns are perfect. Enough about the food. The servers were happy to be at work and very professional. The souvenir shop is a bit hokey but if you need bear stuff they have you covered. The restroom was very clean. Give this place a try you won’t be disappointed

Food: scrumptious! The price for the amounts is really good. I had the Grizz and it was more than I could eat. All of it was cooked great. My wife had the cinnamon roll French toast and it was fabulous though very sweet! The code was hot and fresh!
Service: our waiter kept the coffee full and was able to tend to us on a timely fashion. The place was full but we got in and out in a reasonable time.
Atmosphere: it’s the same at all black bear diners. The staff was friendly, the place wasn’t too loud, and the store and restaurant was clean. Nice dining experience!

Lovely place and comfortable atmosphere, despite the somewhat large size. The food is very decently priced and has an incredible amount of choices. I myself am a fan of bears (obviously), and enjoy the decor far more than probably most people typically would. The music, seating, and decorations make it more comfy, in my honest opinion. Moving on, the food is well-made, typically displayed well, and very generously proportioned. Not to mention it tastes great, the coffee is a plus, too. I enjoy the richness and constant warmth. Lastly, the staff are all very lovely, I can’t say I even had a single notion of negativity. They’re usually joyous around the building and with each other, showing their best face for customers. Overall, I’d recommend coming here for brunch and maybe even dinner.

It’s another “diner”. There’s far too many items on the menu and it’s difficult to get through it the first time.
His food was not hot or fresh when served. It also was not served as he asked…wrong sauces on the side. My burger was okay, but I did ask for the Thousand Island Dressing to be left off as I am not eating a salad.
Overall, not impressed, but you be the judge.
My menu photos are just of part of the menu.

Pros:
(1) Portion size seems large (sometimes) – aka taco salad was huge
(2) Soda was good (not watered down)
(3) Onion rings were standard (okay but not amazing)
Cons:
(1) Salads had a fair amount of brown wilted leaves
(2) Cole slaw had a hint of what I would call foot odor. Probably it wasn’t just some sort of mayonnaise smell, but it wasn’t pleasant when taking a bite. But the flavor was okay, though it did seem a bit too mayonaisse-ey in flavor too
(3) The taco salad was lacking in cilantro (we couldn’t find any at all)
(4) the meatloaf had a weird, almost boiled, consistency. Like it didn’t taste bad, but I could imagine the texture and consistency could throw some people off

We travel a lot and are always looking for new places to eat. Black bear did not disappoint. I got the open faced turkey sandwich with mashed potatoes. It was really good. My husband got the meat loaf, he said it was “okay”. Service was good, didn’t go without anything. Big resteraunt and has a “woodsy, cabin like” feel. I would recommend.
