In 1995 founders Bruce Dean and Bob & Laurie Manley opened the first Black Bear Diner in Mt. Shasta, CA. Their mission was simple: create a fun and friendly atmosphere where the local community could enjoy huge portions of home-style cooking at a reasonable price. Today, we continue their mission at every Black Bear Diner across the country, as we passionately provide guests an outstanding experience. Our menu offers comfort food classics, and our entire menu is offered all day long. Whether you are craving pancakes at 8 pm or pot roast at 8 am – we’ve got something for everyone. Amazing portions, staff is always attentive and friendly. Thought it’d be like some other breakfast franchise we’ve been to but this restaurant’s quality and attention to detail surpasses any other competitors. We had an amazing time. The service was very friendly, attentive and also fast. Our server shared his own recommendations, which were all good, and he helped tweak our kids’ orders so they were exactly what they wished for. Fun atmosphere, lots of space. The portions were huge, even the kids’ meals. We can especially recommend the burgers, tri-tip, mashed potatoes and the tomato soup.
