In 1995 founders Bruce Dean and Bob & Laurie Manley opened the first Black Bear Diner in Mt. Shasta, CA. Their mission was simple: create a fun and friendly atmosphere where the local community could enjoy huge portions of home-style cooking at a reasonable price. Today, we continue their mission at every Black Bear Diner across the country, as we passionately provide guests an outstanding experience. Our menu offers comfort food classics, and our entire menu is offered all day long. Whether you are craving pancakes at 8 pm or pot roast at 8 am – we’ve got something for everyone. I love BBD and their La Habra location is our home diner! We come here frequently and always have an amazing time. I came in as a party of 4. Cynthia C was my server today, my order was taken and brought to me in a timely manner. I didn’t have to ask for refills, I was completely attended to , service was amazing! Food was delicious! We will definitely be coming back!

Black diner is a local staple here in La Habra, but I have to mention tonight’s experience.
We were waited on by Erick, he was nice, genuine and very helpful.
He was patient with my gf and I considering I couldn’t make up my mind.
He went above and beyond and saved the day with kindness & entertaining my banter.
I like to also celebrate Desiree and Aurelia!
These ladies are truly magical and deserve recognition for all their effort to ensure the customer’s expectations have been exceeded!

Food was good. Exactly what I expected it to be. Comforting diner food. Service was quick and kind. Our waitress was Mariayesenia B., and she was very pleasant. She dealt white my daughter’s random 7 year old ramblings better than I could at nearly 9pm. Atmosphere was calm/peaceful.
