First visit at this establishment. The atmosphere is friendly and warm. It feels homie. We were greeted by a gentleman who took our order. The food was great, like I would make it at home. The orange juice is fresh squeezed and it took me by surprise on how tasty it was. All in all, I would recommend it to a family and I will come back with mine.

Great breakfast spot located on TV Highway in Beaverton. Try to get there early because it gets busier throughout the morning and bring your appetite because the portions are sure to satisfy and then some.

I’m not sure why but the food here is spectacular. Every single thing here is delicious. The portions are large and the price isn’t outrageous, which is probably the best situation you want when you go eat out. The location of this diner is iffy and the parking lot is terrible but the food is great. Service is better than average. You’ll get better service here than you would get at Applebee’s or Red. Robin and the atmosphere is very unique. One of the greatest points here is how they are accommodating for infants and children with their high chair situation. They’re actually smart enough to grab a piece of construction paper or some other kind of heavy duty paper, put it down and then put the hydra on top. I’ve never seen that happen anywhere else before and was very thoroughly surprised and encouraged when they did that for my child as well as what I observe for other children.
If you go at a good time of the day, sometimes they’ll have the bear mask out there as well and he goes around and greets the tables and cheerful you place with the children. I’ve been here twice in 2 months and it has been great. Both times I will likely be making this a regular place to visit frequently. As in comparison you will get better service and the price sides to portion ratio is great than other places

The stars are mainly for the waitress. She was really sweet and listened to requests but the poor rating is because I went in today and ordered a grilled chicken sand which…I had already eaten some of it when I noticed it wasn’t fully cooked. Also I don’t know if they rush but our food came surprisingly soon after we had ordered and keep in mind it was busy when we went in so I thought the food would take a while. My son’s mac and cheese was brought out almost immediately and was very cold so Im hoping they didnt have it sitting there. I also hope the cooks are using a meat thermometer. I brought it to the waitress’s attention about the chicken and she took my plate and offered to bring me a new one (which also came surprisingly quick) but I didn’t think she’d use the same plate which was probably already contaminated I didn’t want to send it back again so I didn’t say anything….

My first time at this place and the 30 minute wait for a table was absolutely worth it. AMAZING! Fantastic food, large portions, and the person dressed as a bear was funny and made the meal a whole experience.

Visited Black Bear Diner in Beaverton, OR and had a bit of a mixed experience. The overall atmosphere was cozy and welcoming, and the experience was generally pleasant.

However, the service was just average — not bad, but not particularly memorable either. The biggest letdown was the food temperature and seasoning: the home fries arrived cold, and the spicy Italian sausage was overly salty to the point it overpowered the plate.

That said, the rest of the meal was solid, and the portions were generous. If they tighten up the execution a bit, this place could easily be a four-star stop. Worth another try, but with tempered expectations.

We had lunch at noon last Saturday. The place seemed very busy, but there was no waiting time. I got the chicken fried steak with 2 egg combos. The way they cooked the steak was good, but I just didn’t like the taste of its meat (I do love beef.) I had a better one at a different restaurant. I also didn’t like their biscuit much; so dry and not warm at all. It crumbled so easy it was hard to eat. Onion rings and over easy eggs were perfectly cooked. I wish they were careful not to pour gravy on the orange (shown in the pic.) Great value for the price though!! The portions are huge. You can have lunch for less than 20 bucks and actually get full.
Our server, Eduardo, was very friendly with a smile the whole time we were there. He and other servers made sure my partner’s coffee was full. I didn’t see any flies, but just a little dust on the exhaust fan. One of the employees was vacumming the carpet and she almost hit my elbow. Lady, wait until we leave the table lol

It’s a thematic diner chain. It’s fun. The portions are gargantuan and the staff was super friendly.

This all made for a great experience for breakfast. We left half of it behind because they give you so much. They did offer takeout boxes, but since we’re staying in a hotel and leaving the area, we regretfully declined.

Bears everywhere, of course, including on their own hot sauce bottles. Those were pretty good and reasonably priced at 6 per bottle.

If you have been to any Black Bear Diner you’ve seen them all. Food is mediocre to great depending on what you order. It’s never bad food and the portions are generous. Because the menu has so many choices, and you can order breakfast all day or dinner for breakfast (there are some limits to this, like baked potatoes) there really is something for everyone.
We’ve never had bad service, eaten at many different locations in different states and the service has always been good. Black Bear has a comfortable vibe, warm and inviting.

This is by far the best breakfast we had during our stay in Oregon. The prices are reasonable, especially with the amount of food served. We came three times, and not a single complaint about the food or service. We had Manny serve us every time, and his hospitality is amazing. What a wonderful server he is!
