Plenty of parking, zero wait time, great host, and wonderful waiters. We even were approached by the bar manager in case we wanted to order drinks. Nice touch.
Appetizers were great and most of the dinners ordered were good. The steaks we got were ok, but weren’t to the level one expects at a higher end restaurant. All other food was good though.
Part of the experience was interrupted by a pair of regulars that were a bit disruptive with negative comments about the food and staff. Not sure I’ll come back because of this, but you never know. I recommend coming by after 7pm to ensure those regulars aren’t around.
Food was really good, the atmosphere was really classy, nothing really felt like a traditional Black Angus but the food was really good.
Tiffany the bartender waited on me and took excellent care of me. Great personality!
Was worth the 20-minute drive from the beach for a perfect steak.
I was greeted, but my seven month old baby was too!
Appetizer (calamari) was a generous portion and done just right.
Our main dishes were great too! The prime rib was cooked to my specification and my wife’s crab cake had plenty of crab in it (with the right amount of binding).
Atmosphere and decor was great! I look forward to coming back.
The steak and meatloaf were mediocre. It seemed more of a place for wealthy individuals to enjoy wine and engage in loud conversations about themselves. If you’re seeking a quiet and romantic atmosphere, I wouldn’t recommend this place. And as for the food, there are many, many better restaurants in Hampton Roads.
I started with the She Crab Soup which was great. Nice and sweet, full of crab meat. They also brought out bread (which took a little to get) but was completely fresh made on sight. Everything looked great.
Then I got my main course which was a Local Virginia Grass Fed Aged Strip. I also got a baked potato and 1 scallop to try. The scallop was great. Well cooked, not chewy. The steak was cooked perfect (medium rare) with a great temperature. The baked potato was great as well. Decent size, soft and tasty! Our experience was a 10/10. I was very surprised to see it wasn’t packed in there.
Last thing I wanted to note was they closed at 8 pm this evening and a family walked in at around 8:14 looking to be seated and they didn’t hesitate at all. They took the table with no questions. 100% a great place overall and that just goes to show how above and beyond they go for their customers.
10/10!! If you haven’t tried it, what are you waiting for? If you are traveling in from out of town and you want a quieter spot to eat with great atmosphere this is your spot!
