Very welcoming vibe upon arrival with good music and the smell of food coming straight from the grill before you even enter the restaurant. Staff are very friendly and professional. Doesn’t mind sampling to help decide what entree’s to choose. Portions are more than enough to feed 2 or divide into 2 meals. I have eaten here often so I’ve tried just about everything and by far the Rasta Pasta and oxtails are my favorite go to. However the fish is pretty good as well freshly fried upon order topped with whatever homemade sauce you like. I love that their jerk chicken fresh off the grill and topped with whatever sauce you like from extremely hot to mild to a sweet taste you may desire and however much of it you like at no additional cost. The cabbage my God finger licking Amazing you can eat that without anything else and be satisfied. Don’t forget the island punch you can taste the freshness of the fruits and very tasteful to go along with whatever you eat. I have yet to have a bad experience!! It’s definitely a hidden gem that we needed out here in highland springs. It’s a must to visit if you haven’t.

OK, OK: this was a tremendous find over this past weekend. I was down the street visiting a friend of mine. (shout out to Heavenly Kuts) and my friend introduced me to this hidden gem in Henrico County East End.
Please don’t allow this outdoor atmosphere restaurant to throw you. The food and service is above board. I mean, they really hit it out of the park.
Here’s a brief story. Me and my friend visited B&L for lunch. I got the curry chicken and pasta. OMG, it was so good. My friend got their fish and gave me a piece to try. About three hours later, I went back to this restaurant and ordered two fish meals with extra pieces of fish. It is just that good!!!
we highly recommend it, and have already planned on another visit and it’s only been about five days. Now that’s just crazy.
for the amount of food that you get and the price, you will be exceptionally happy

Don’t fall for the recent reviews. This food was terrible. I ordered the jerk chicken with rice and rasta pasta, and there was zero jerk flavor—just plain shredded chicken. If you have to pour jerk sauce on after the fact, something is seriously wrong.
The rice was dry, flavorless, and tasted like it had been sitting all day. The rasta pasta was nothing more than penne noodles drowning in bland Alfredo sauce with no seasoning whatsoever. Completely forgettable.
You absolutely get what you pay for here. Real Jamaican jerk chicken doesn’t cost $10 for a reason. Huge mistake coming here. Save your money and eat literally anywhere else—even a chain restaurant or a salad would be a better choice.

First thing, If i could i would not have giving this not 1 star, the cabbage is too fine. You get more peppers and onions than you do cabbage. I ordered the oxtail dinner for $20, I got a plate full of rice, a scoop of cabbage and 2 oxtails, it’s no way That that is acceptable, especially in a Caribbean or Jamaican atmosphere, they know how to feed their people. When I went back mentioned that I only got two oxtails to the young man , he said , yeah , cause we’re already selling it cheaper than what we’re making if I give you more than we wouldn’t make anything. I never been to a Caribbean or Jamaican restaurant where you only get 2 oxtails.
Second thing i ordered was an island punch tastes like the machine has not been cleaned in weeks. I also wanted a order of the honey jerk wings, they sell them a $1.50 a wing, I was okay with that thinking that I was getting a whole wing and when i opened that box he wound up giving me 2 wing dings. Now , I spent almost thirty dollars to only have to go find me something else to eat. Outrageous at its finest. Please go somewhere else if you want Caribbean food because this definitely was not it

The owners are very nice and welcoming. We got the Jerk Chicken and Jerk Fish with Rice and Peas, Steamed Cabbage, and drinks. We got to sample the Oxtail and Rasta Pasta and will definitely be ordering some our next visit. Everything was delicious, reasonably priced, and made fresh. Can’t wait to come back!

Customer service was good, and the food was excellent. It was definitely worth taking a chance, and I found out this establishment was a gem. My new favorite on the Eastend. Try the sauces also. I’ll be a repeat customer.

I went to this place this past Thursday I think it was and they did not disappoint. I really liked the oxtails. And the yellow pepper sauce burnt my tongue off. I love spicy pepper sauces like that. And one thing I appreciate is they let you put your own amount of sauce on your jerk chicken. I can’t wait to go back. The young dude at the counter asked me if I wanted to try the pepper sauce before I put it on my food and I said nope. and it is definitely worth it. I will be back to try some other food.
