Decent French bistro. My only criticism is that the onion tart is NOT an onion tart but rather a quiche. If the chef is French he / she should know better

Excellent dining experience. Good food, very good band that created lovely atmosphere. Service was friendly, patient, and even called us when credit card was left on the table. Restaurants usually do t bother. The salmon entree was excellent. I’m going to try to repeat it. Floating island dessert reminded me of my teens.

Bistrot Lepic & Wine Bar is a stereotypical and old school French restaurant in Georgetown. Although the furniture is outdated, the buzz and ambiance is perfect. We celebrated a birthday on the first floor, and did not know what to expect. But now I have the answer – it’s exactly what you’d imagine for a popular French bistro tucked in some corner in the outskirts of Paris. The food is not particularly creative but it is familiar, using and elevating simple and tasty ingredients. Brie+honey+toast, you don’t need more. The server recommended a perfect wine to pair with our meal. I ordered their steak au poivre and my partner ordered the ossobuco, which was heavenly! I hear they have Wednesday jazz nights… I’ll have to return.

This is a phenomenal, cozy establishment. The food was very flavorful, the service was very good, and the live string/jazz band was very talented (we dined on a Wednesday evening). We sat upstairs, which had a special ambiance and decor.

I always have a pleasurable experience there. The food is delicious and the service impeccable! They also have a very extensive list of the best French wines you can find. Among my favorites are the salmon tartar and escargot appetisers and for main course the veal cheeks and the salmon in potato crust. As a weekday highlight they have jazz on Wednesdays. And brunch on weekends with outdoor seating; but come early to get a spot! ☺️

bistrot Lepic is a very nice Bistrot that has been around for a while now and offers a certain consistency and traditional mostly dishes with the French cuisine being the main focus -had a nice dinner. The mushrooms appetizer was ok but flat, pretty bland, the salmon, potato encrusted was pretty nicely done cooked correctly. Risoto a ok. The glass of wine I had was pretty decent and the profiteroles although just two of them that we shared were tasty, but didn’t blow me away, I think the quality of food is decent but certain nights could do better and my night was one of those nights-bread was fresh but burnt- butter had lots of salt- had to change to without salt- btw this is not French to load the butter like this-still like the place and I recommend it!

Update we had dinner at the wine bar yesterday and Natasha took good care of us. Food was excellent so i am upgrading their rating to 5 stars- great job Lepic other than your kitchen closes too early at 9 for a Friday..

If you like creamy/custard/vanilla deserts, I highly recommend the Ile flotant (floating island). One of the best I’ve ever had. Overall great restaurant

I ate here for the first time, their bread is very crispy, and the taste of other specialties will be bitter in my personal experience, maybe I am personally surprised! Garlic snails are still good, the final soup and bread is a very good companion ‍❤️‍ ‍

My mother and I visited this restaurant for lunch on the day after Christmas 2024, around 12:30 PM. There was a bit of confusion initially about which door to use, but a helpful sign directed us to the correct entrance (the blue door). Upon entering, we immediately noticed a staircase leading up to what appears to be a wine bar that occasionally hosts jazz music. To the left, there’s another door leading to the main dining room.

Note: The bathrooms are upstairs, which could pose a challenge for individuals with mobility issues. There are quite a few stairs, and the narrow doors make wheelchair access nearly impossible. It seems they have the capability to set up outdoor seating, though none was available during our visit.

We were promptly greeted in the dining area and shown to a table. The hostess kindly asked if we were comfortable with the table’s location, which we appreciated. Later, we noticed a group of three who were offered the same choice and opted for a different spot. Two of the women in that group, wearing fur coats, seemed slightly perturbed by the lack of a designated place to hang their coats. Our coats, however, draped over our chairs without issue.

We both ordered the “Médaillons de boeuf poêlés.” When my mother inquired about the pronunciation of “poêlés,” our waiter, who had a thick Spanish accent, admitted he wasn’t sure. His accent posed a slight challenge while explaining the specials, and despite our efforts to clarify one item, he didn’t seem to understand our request for repetition. Ultimately, we moved on to the menu. We were given two options: a lunch Prix Fixe menu and the main menu.

The beef medallions (on the main menu) were cooked perfectly—mine medium and my mother’s medium-rare. The garlic polenta was flavorful and delicious, but the vegetables felt more like a garnish than a true side dish. I would have appreciated a larger portion.

At the end of the meal, it took a while to catch the waiter’s attention to request the bill. To his credit, we had only eaten one beef medallion each and likely appeared as though we weren’t finished. We placed our flatware face-down on the plates and eventually set our napkins on the table as a signal, but I finally had to raise my hand to flag him down, something I do not like to do as it feels rude.

When we requested carry-out boxes, we were pleasantly surprised that the staff took our plates to the kitchen to box up the food for us. This thoughtful touch spared us the task of scraping leftovers into the containers ourselves and risking spills on clothing.

Favorite local French spot with a cozy intimate atmosphere. The duck confit is always a hit for me and my lovely girlfriend enjoys the chicken curry every time we go!

Crowd is on the older side.
