What a find! Bottom line: excellent. Staff is welcoming, cheery, helpful and professional. Their recommendations were honest and spot-on. Cocktails were expertly prepared and served. And the food…simply the best we’ve enjoyed in Mason City. Dry-rub wings appetizer (lemon pepper and mesquite) were generously sized and entirely delectable. NY strip with mashed potato, asparagus and mushroom demi was first-rate, top-drawer and perfectly prepared mid-rare. Legacy burger with sumptuous Gouda Mac and cheese was expertly grilled mid-rare and deliciously bacon-forward. And the crème brûlée was, to be honest, one of the best we’ve ever tasted. We visited on a slow Saturday so enjoyed the very pleasant quiet ambiance. Had such a great experience that we’re headed back tomorrow morning for brunch knowing it will deliver another 10/10 dining adventure. Bistro Nineteen is a winner.

Classy, but also welcoming and family friendly! Delicious variety of gluten free options – I had the filet and it melted in my mouth! Will definitely come again!

We drove 90 mins to meet w our college son who also drove up from Ames. Bistro 19 had only 24 reviews, but all were 5 star. We had high hopes. Everything else I share is intended soley as feedback to the staff at Bistro 19. I think they are still learning, and I am confident they will resolve/outgrow these modest failings. The restaurant shares space w the clubhouse, who had several very loud rambuntious children making noise. Only a curtain separates the space – in short, even with only a few guests it was Loud and distracting. Upon entering the bistro we were pleased by the Charming tables/settings of the entire place. With the dim interior lighting and warm natural light from outside, the mix of dark wood tables, black cloths, and choice of goblets and flatware made for a very inviting ‘still life’ image. I made sure to let the staff know we appreciated this. Goblets and glasses were sparkling and clean. But we were sat at table that wobbled several inches sidetoside – quite annoying and clearly a goof the table-setter ignored. Rookie wrror. Moving along. Drinks were wonderful – my Old Fashioned ranks up there w the best I have ever enjoyed. Wine selection nicely done. MY porkchop was the best of our five (5) meals. But, I have enjoyed dining at restaurants who bring out the uncooked meat and ask the guest to choose how They wish such meats to be Trimmed, before cooking. That option would have improved my dining. My porkchop was prepared with a sweet caramel apple-y mushoom-and bacon sauce that was DeLicious… but the edible ‘meat’ on my chop was only about 1/4 of what was on my plate. Disappointing, and the wealth of sauce found me hunting slice after slice looking for my superbly-cook portion. I would have appreciated the option to trim it down by half before cooking. (Or select more meaty cuts of pork). The rest of my family were actually disapointed by their meals… excess sauces, unusual blendings of food – I did not learn of this till on the drive home. My family felt overlooked by the staff. There were only two tables of guests (out of ten or so tables) and we had to wait an unexpectedly long time for appetizers, drinks, food, etc. Lastly – they served a delightful grill-toasted artisian bread as appetizer, but only w a sparing amount of plain olive oil for dipping. Bringing a shaker of mixed seasonings, and adding as teaspoon of balsamic to the oil would have livened that bread into something braggable. We drove away leaving $270 for four meals plus tip. I think Bistro 19 has some location challenges to overcome, but I still enjoyed my visit and would drop in again in future months to see how they mature. Cheers, Dr Vogt

A great surprise that Mason City has food that great. We had the Bistro Nineteen Burger, it maybe the best burger I have ever tasted. The Bistro Steak Frites was also super, with mushroom sauce and fresh made mayo.

This was a great place. The food was good. The service was very good . The views of the golf course were framed nicely by the large windows. We were there on a Sunday morning. The acoustics in the building were noisy even though the restaurant was far from full. But, that’s my only negative reaction. The prices were not modest and they were well deserved!

Bistro nineteen offers a fine dining experience that is truly exceptional.

I tried the crab cake and the burger, and both were outstanding. I always have to try crab cakes wherever they are offered and this was done to perfection. I really wanted to get the steak but kept going back to the burger with rib meat and brisket. My curiosity got me and am glad it did, it was without a doubt, the best burger I have had. Very flavorful and cooked just the way I like it, this burger is a must try for anyone visiting the area.

Staff and service were equally impressive. Attentive, friendly, and professional, they made sure that every aspect of our dinning experience was top-notch (they even texted me afterwards informing me I left my card on the table ). Whether you’re celebrating a special occasion or simply looking for a great meal, Bistro Nineteen is the place to be.

Highly recommended!
