I had high hopes for this place but sadly the only thing that was good about it was the rooftop view with patio. Food would be rated zero stars as was the service. The waiter forgot my drink order and asked me for it three times – it arrived after 50 minutes. He also forgot our food order and asked us for it three times as well. Then he blamed everything on his colleague who is “new” even though his colleague did not take our order. ♀️ when the food arrived it was mediocre at best. Actually inedible. We ate two bites and could not bear to eat any more despite not having lunch. When the check arrived, there was a long 20 minute back and forth about using American Express. Finally I offered to pay in cash simply to put an end to the evening. There is a Michelin rating on the building next to the restaurant sign but I can’t imagine it refers to the restaurant at all. Sigh.
Ps – we should have realized something was up when the restaurant was empty at 6:30 pm except for one large group of women having a girls night.

Very disappointing. We had such high expectations. The view from the rooftop overlooking SMdA is spectacular. This place is Michelin recommended.
But, there was a staffing problem, and the overall experience was a bitter disappointment. The wrong cocktails arrived after an hour. The wine arrived after we have finished eating. The steak was overcooked. Mingey serving of fries. The last entre arrived at least 20 minutes after everyone else’s. The soup was tepid.
So sad. (We were not charged to the glass of wine. I would have hoped that all the drinks at least would have been comp’ed)

Had a great dinner here, starting with a interesting mezcal coctail on the rooftop with a great sunset view. Killer beet salad for app, mole for the main, and an elegantly presented flan for the postre.

The host was charming and timed our meal service perfectly for a dining night out— the house made sangrita with the mescaline was memorable. The Chenin blanc was perfect with pork and also seafood tacos. Food was elegant but comforting and u pretentious with authentic Mexican influence. The flan was heavenly! beautiful tranquil evening setting.
Price very reasonable for such an upscale evening.

This was a second visit to Bistro Mexique. The food here is delicious, especially enchiladas with mole and the tacos. Only suggestion on food is to automatically bring tortillas or totopos because we want to get every bit of the mole. The server did a fine job. I’ll definitely be back for the food and the servers, not happy with the manager though.
The manager (GM?) that night was different from my first visit which was very enjoyable. This manager was the sole reason for deducting 2 stars for service. Solo, he’d merit maybe 3 stars. (The initial server at the table was 5 stars.)
To me, the manager needs an update in the meaning of hospitality and service especially in San Miguel’s highly competitive restaurant segment.
He’s the first and last person one sees at this lovely restaurant.

Went here for happy hour. The margaritas were tiny for 170mx each but we thought being 2×1 it was ok. Upon receiving the bill the price was higher (220 mx each) than the menu we initially received, the waiter admitted that not only were the happy hour prices higher than the regular menu, but the drink sizes were smaller!!??? He could not produce anything to justify this. I told him this was bad business, he seemed unfazed. We left feeling scammed and rather annoyed. The near empty restaurant on a Friday night was a red flag. Now you know. Don’t go here, there are plenty of other terraces with good views and real happy hours.

Ordered the mole enchiladas with pollo. Some of the best mole i have ever had. I actually had it the next day for breakfast with eggs. Touch of sweetness with some bite. Delicious. I also ordered a tuna tartare to begin with. Excellent especially the sauce it was prepared with and the tuna was perfect. The best part was the service as well.

Great experience! The view from the rooftop dining room is beautiful. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and the food was delicious. The architecture of the building gives this place a very special atmosphere and adds an element of charm that makes it a perfect place to enjoy a night in San Miguel.
