Bistro Du Vin is a cosy, no-frills French bistro that does the classics well.

We started with the French onion soup, which was deeply flavourful and comforting, with a good balance of sweetness from the onions and richness from the broth. The steak was nicely done, juicy, nicely charred and satisfying, paired well with crisp fries. The frog legs were a highlight for me- well fried, light and fragrant, not too greasy.

Dessert was excellent. The soufflé was airy and warm paired very well with the vanilla ice cream, ending the meal on a high note. The wine selection is solid and reasonably priced, making it a pleasant place to enjoy a relaxed meal without feeling rushed.

Overall, a dependable spot for classic French comfort food in a casual, welcoming setting.

Went there in one of weekday, surprisingly pretty pack at peak hour; humble restaurant ran by a nice and cheerful chef. The food was so great, loved their French onion soup to the max! The braised duck was scrumptious, the gravy was so nicely done. Chocolate mousse was made of 75% dark chocolate and it’s light and less guilty when you have it.

First time at this restaurant for me. I used to patronise Sebestien’s years ago, as part of the Les Amis group.

I will say that the atmosphere was a good recreation of a french bistro. Service was attentive without being overbearing. 🙂

As for the food, we enjoyed every dish. The mussels were great: not too big in size and consequently very tender and sweet. The duck confit was great too. I have read that it is very salty. Well… I can’t say I feel that way. Very much on par with other duck confit I have had in french places. 😉 Of course, YMMV.

We loved the cheese platter! and the chocolate mousse too!

All in all, we enjoyed the lovely meal. and the tables are not as close as some reviews suggest…

Had lunch for two at this excellent French restaurant near Orchard and it was a real highlight. We went for the lunch set, which is fantastic value and highly recommended. Everything was spot on—from the rich onion soup to the perfectly cooked pork chop, finishing with a classic crème brûlée. Consistently excellent throughout. Would definitely return, especially for the lunch set.

Excellent food and service by the team here, they are efficient and very attentive to guests needs. Visited BDV after a few years and the food still tastes fantastic, probably even better than we can remember. We had duck confit and mussels and soup. All of which were delicious, the mussels were surprisingly sweet and delightful. The desserts – soufflé and Crepe suzette were very nice too, all of us loved it. The grand marnier soufflé was very delicious! You can feel that care and thought were put into ensuring the food is of highest standards. One side note is that the potatoes with the duck was a little on the dry side, I wish it can be creamier. Overall we had a wonderful time and will definitely visit again soon!

Bistro vibe in Christmas season is really good. Almost fully seated for Mondy lunch.
Food are good, the entrees are appetizing. I like the duck which is crispy and tender, but fish fillet is bit salty.
Mont Blanc is bit too sweet

There are countless French restaurants in Singapore, but if you’re looking for one with an extensive menu of timeless classics, look no further than Bistro Du Vin. The dishes here are hearty, comforting, and full of soul.

A special mention goes to the bouillabaisse — the broth was rich and flavorful, and not once did I find a bone in the red mullet (quite a feat, since this fish is known for its fine pin bones). The seafood was cooked to perfection and tasted wonderfully fresh.

As I enjoyed the dish, I was transported back to my late father-in-law’s home, where he first introduced me to bouillabaisse when I was still dating my husband. Revisiting that memory at Bistro Du Vin made our wedding anniversary celebration even more meaningful.

Thank you, Bistro Du Vin, for making our day so special. Highly recommended.

Been here a few times, and it’s never failed to satisfy me and my eating partners. The price is high, but it’s one of the places in Singapore where I believe it is justified by the taste and service.

The onion soup is to die for, and the escargot is outstanding.

Would just stick to steak and frites here. And the steak is one of the best we have in Singapore. Well cooked and seasoned. For the desserts they were really generous with the alcohol too 🙂

Bistro du Vin brought me right back to France. We had two mains and the apple tarte — all incredibly authentic and delicious. The atmosphere is cosy and charming, and the owner and staff were warm and welcoming. A lovely dining experience overall!
