The food was absolutely exceptional—beautifully prepared, rich in flavor, and thoughtfully plated. It truly felt like a special occasion meal. They went above and beyond for my husband’s birthday, leaving a hand-signed card on the table, which added such a personal and memorable touch.

The atmosphere was modern, intimate, and stylish—perfect for celebrating.

The only drawback was the service pacing. Our server never offered an iced tea refill and empty glasses sat for most of the meal. At this level of dining, timing and attentiveness matter, and the experience felt slightly off-tempo.

Despite that, the food alone makes this a place we’d gladly return to—special, delicious, and worth the evening out.

Classy, American steakhouse, great for a special occasion or date night. The menu shines with quality meat, seafood, and vegetable offerings. Nice decor and service. Broad wine and liquor selection.

The 60-day aged ribeye was sliced and served with simple garnishes to highlight the great beef flavor. It was accompanied with grilled squash and delicious potatoes.

The tuna crudo was light and fresh with a Vietnamese theme – topped with spicy peanuts, light chilis, lemon grass, and other garnishes.

The three milk bread buns had a light coat of sea salt and were served with a nice butter.

The lamb meatballs were nicely charred and placed in a vibrant green and orange sauce.

Special thanks to Chef John for coming by to share about the food and his plans for the upcoming menu items. Thank you to Abby for the professional service.

Note: This is a premium dining experience; expect to spend around $100+ per person for a full meal and drinks.

Food is incredible and service was great. Very knowledgeable server. Portions were sizable as far as fine dining goes. Had the chicken and dumplings and they were fantastic, husband had the wagyu steak and it was perfect. Definitely try the bread board.

Absolutely amazing experience! We are native to the area but this was our first time visiting this restaurant. We were warmly greeted and welcomed in by the host, our server was amazing and took such great care of us, the food was more than just great food, it was thoughtful with very special touches, the desserts were absolutely wonderful! We lingered in the bar after dinner. The bartenders were very friendly, knowledgeable and talented. Every employee we spoke to was very pleasant and seemed to genuinely enjoy being there. We will definitely return! Many thanks to the chef for the small plate that he prepared just for us and to the entire restaurant staff who took such wonderful care of us. Great job, everyone!

I first experienced Bistro on the Tracks about five years ago, and while it was excellent then, their new location is an absolute upgrade! It’s much closer to my usual shopping haunts, making it incredibly convenient. The interior is a perfect blend of cute and classy, with quirky decor that adds personality without sacrificing sophistication. From the moment we walked in, the staff were wonderfully friendly and helpful, making us feel completely at ease. We even managed to snag a same-day reservation, which was a pleasant surprise and made our visit effortlessly enjoyable.

Be prepared to pay for quality, as this is a high-end establishment committed to locally sourced ingredients, but every penny is absolutely worth it. To start, I ordered both the milk bread rolls and the cheddar biscuits. While the rolls were lovely, the **cheddar biscuits were an absolute revelation!** Though listed as a side, they made for the most delicious starter – I’ll definitely be getting those again next time, perhaps even skipping the rolls entirely (though they were good too!). We also tried the peach salad, which was wonderfully refreshing. It’s certainly for a more adventurous palate, as it’s far from a traditional salad, but the unique flavors intensified with every bite, creating a truly memorable dish.

For my main course, I opted for the dry-aged beef tenderloin kabobs, and they were phenomenal. The beef was incredibly tender, and the homemade steak sauce served on the side was simply incredible – I highly recommend it! I also ordered a side of loaded gold potatoes, which were super good, but honestly, the delicious corn and other accompaniments that came with the kabobs were ample, so the extra side wasn’t strictly necessary. My husband had the grouper, and he raved about it, especially the fantastic sauce that complemented it perfectly.

Finally, we finished with the buttermilk pie. It was good, but not a standout for me personally – though I confess, I’m notoriously picky when it comes to desserts!

Overall, Bistro on the Tracks continues to impress. The new location, delightful ambiance, friendly service, and truly exceptional food make it a must-visit. I’m already looking forward to my next meal there!

Ive been to the original. Ive dined at the temporary one on Central. This one let me down. Food presentation was great, oysters were fabulous. The beets in the salad were over salty, as all the ingredients were cooked separately so it made it easy to pinpoint. The brittle was fantastic . Duck was fantastic but the fried rice too salty.
Wagu was a huge let down. Huge disappointment. If you want to be a top tier restaurant, offer top tier cuts of meat.
As far as service, the food runner/ expeditor was much more educated on the menu and food and wines than our waitress. Her attitude was very bad for the position she holds. Management might want to consider bringing on some experienced professionals. She may have years of experience but its not of the level expected in a place like this.
I do wish them the best. Wont be going back. Plenty of competition in this town.

The experience was a mix of highs and lows. The table cloth had an unpleasant smell which was an unfortunate start. The scallops were decent, though not as exceptional as they were on our previous visit. The Wagyu beef was well-prepared, but the accompaniments were overwhelmingly salty. In contrast, the chicken and dumplings were noticeably under-seasoned. The true standout of the evening was definitely the dessert, which was just absolutely delightful!

Very good; could be amazing with very little effort.
I love the idea behind the restaurant and I think it could become a fine dining place very easily. The service was excellent, they serve delicious and generous drinks, and they’re very reasonably priced. But the waiter could have either warned me about the level of spice in the bouillabaisse or it should have been marked in the menu as spicy. Also, we noticed the kitchen doesn’t time the dishes well, so they sit in the window and arrive lukewarm at the table, which I dislike especially with red meat. Basically, nothing arrived warm enough tonight; and it’s too bad because I can tell they try very hard. In addition, all food could use more seasoning, especially salt. And tone down on pepper; it doesn’t have to be on everything, including the crouton bread pieces in the appetizers. Lastly, they don’t serve espresso, which to me is disappointing because I like a small shot after a heavier meal. They can’t aspire to be a fine dining place without serving European style coffees. But it is by far the best restaurant in Knoxville I’ve eaten so far, with excellent service (they didn’t make me pay for the mean dish because the bouillabaisse arrived spicy), and I do want to go back for more sometime.

The Central Ave location has a beautiful, inviting interior, comfortable seating, and we loved that the tables came from local Smoky Mountain Vintage Lumber! Michelle made us feel welcome right away, provided top service, and guided us through our first visit with solid suggestions. We started with Oysters Rockefeller and an incredibly rich Irish potato soup, then moved on to the duck and scallops for our entres. All were flavorful and beautifully presented. We shared an espresso cheesecake for dessert and enjoyed every bite.
