Had an amazing Bangladeshi food experience here. We had dinner and came back for brunch the next day. 10$ breakfast with luchi / porota, alu bhaji, daal and shuji and egg was a great deal and delicious. Peyaju, Shingara, samucha, tea was really good. Chicken roll was average. Halim was amazing. We also tried chicken biriyani, beef vuna, naan, chicken roast. Everything was great, although chicken roast was a spicy version, and not the typical Bangladeshi biye barir roast. Their hospitality was really great. Realizing we came from out of state, and seeing our enthusiasm about the food, they gave us a box of roshomalai to try. That was a very sweet touch on top of our already really good food experience. For the other people who left bad reviews (eg about butter chicken), my suggestion would be to not try a butter chicken in a Bangladeshi restaurant, and instead try the authentic Bangladeshi dishes. Then you won’t be disappointed.

The Bismillah Restaurant is the best restaurant to eat at after a long day in the mosque. Like genuinely, the people are kind and humble and the food is so amazing to the point where I get more. Must recommend this place for those who want to see the real meaning of good food.

Worst butter chicken I’ve ever had. Ordered biryani from the display but got two day old biryani warmed up from the back kitchen. Salad was also a day old. Not sure how they got above 4 ratings on google. Over hyped place.

Bismillah Restaurant & Bakery is a true gem for anyone craving authentic Indian and Bangladeshi cuisine. From the moment you walk in, you’re welcomed by the aroma of freshly baked naan, warm spices, and a comforting, home-cooked vibe that sets the tone for an enjoyable meal.
The food here is the star of the show. I tried the chicken biryani, which was perfectly spiced and served in a generous portion. The rice was fluffy, the chicken tender, and the flavor incredibly satisfying. The butter chicken was rich, creamy, and had just the right amount of heat. Paired with fresh garlic naan straight from the tandoor, it was a perfect combination.
Their bakery section is also worth mentioning. The sweets, especially the gulab jamun and rasgulla, are fresh and authentic—just the way you’d expect from a quality South Asian bakery. They also offer delicious savoury snacks like samosas and pakoras, great for a quick bite or takeaway.
Service was friendly and quick. The staff were helpful in suggesting dishes based on our preferences, and everything was served hot and fresh.
Prices are reasonable, and the quality of the food definitely makes it worth every penny. Whether you’re stopping by for a quick lunch, picking up groceries and bakery items, or planning a family dinner, Bismillah Restaurant & Bakery delivers consistently great taste and service.
A must-visit for anyone who appreciates bold flavors, hearty meals, and traditional South Asian cooking. Highly recommended!

Two days ago, I went to the Bismillah restaurant on Paterson Union Avenue, about two miles from there, and their food is often not good, and they charge a little more.

I am a regular customer and I have just seen their quality get worse and worse! Every week, I get beef biriyani for takeout meet and white rice just plain biriyani. This is not my first time upset about this, but this is too much which is why I’m writing a review. and Please check your bills before you leave the restaurant.
