We payed full price food that was missing potatoes. I am just upset right now that we paid for food that was missing ingredients. I got the goat no rice comes with it no potato that’s supposed to come with it. Just a small plastic bowel for 14.99. I can’t eat this at all. We would have returned but not now. Do better InshaAllah

Tried their beef biriyani and nihari. Both items were delicious. Food was fresh and yummy. Nihari came with a naan. Highly recommended.

We tried their buffet on Saturday. The food was really good. If you really want to try Pakistani food, this is the place to go. The only negative for me was that the food was more on oily side. There was too much oil in almost every dish. I would suggest the owner to please decrease the oil quantity in your dishes. Rest, taste is amazing.

OMG, this place is so so good! Biryani Stop may be my new favorite restaurant in the Twin Cities. This was my first time eating at a Pakistani restaurant, and I wish I had tried this place earlier. I went on a Saturday for their lunch buffet, and they had so many delicious options. Lots of great various meat and vegetarian dishes. There were so many great dishes. I will be back to try them all soon.

The food was exceptional, particularly the Goat Paya and Nihari. While the location is near truck parking, it’s easy to access. Prices are reasonable, with the buffet priced at $25 per person, and it’s fantastic. If you’re traveling from MSP to Chicago, this spot is definitely worth considering for takeout or even dining in.

I went to biryani stop today and ordered nihari and chicken biryani, my server was yousuf, he brought us the food with a sweet smile on his face. He was very courteous throughout. The food tasted good just a little spicy which my wife had ordered . All in all we had an amazing experience and it’s affordable too.

The only thing I’d suggest for the managment is that for the restaurant we have to go through a shop, if they could put a sign board on the top of entry it would be easier for people.

Fantastic food. Authentic Pakistani cuisine.

Update: service needs a little improvement. Had to wait long time for bread. Bring a small amount and then forget. Need frequent reminders.

I tried the food here “Biryani Stop”, and I must say it’s the best I’ve eaten in the area. The flavors reminded me of the authentic taste from the region where this cuisine is most popular. With a lot of options available under a single roof, if you enjoy spicy food like “Nihaari”, this is definitely the best place for you!

Please take this at face value: this is a Pakistani restaurant located in a South St Paul truck stop. So, if you were planning on doing a ‘Joy Ride’s movie marathon, I would suggest holding off til after you come here.

The ambience at Biryani Stop is quaint and charming. The food which is somewhere advertised as being like food one would get at home, is exactly that assuming you’re Pakistani.

I got the goat biryani. The rice was very well spiced, and the meat was fall-off-the-bone tender, which I typically have not found with goat meat.

My mother got the Pakistani equivalent of Butter Chicken. Also, delicious. The sauce had been much reduced throughout the day since we arrived a couple hours before close and had an umami quality a lot like the crusty bits in a lasagna pan.

They have a lunch buffet for 19.99$ a person. Dinner entrees were closer to 15$ per dish.

Naan was standard fare and very useful for mopping up butter chicken sauce.

The chai was delightfully spicy and not too sweet.

Before we left, the cook/server/dishwasher offered us complementary dessert. He called it trifle. Someone from the southern United States might call it banana pudding. I was ecstatic.

I highly recommend trying this place and, if you do, being mindful that there are trucks entering and exiting regularly.

This is your must stop if you crave for traditional Pakistani/North Indian cuisine. You will definitely find hints of Kashmir & Punjab as well. It has a perfect desi Dhaba (gas station restaurant) vibe.
Food is to die for, I am sure your stomach would be full but not your hearts. Highly recommend going on Sat/Sun as they serve buffet and that would be the best way to try all their specialties.
I personally enjoyed the pakistani Puri-halwa, butter chicken, tandoori chicken, chicken biryani, pakistani chole-puri, chole-chicken and Kashmiri Chai.
The naans are so light, puffy, and yummy.

Owners are super friendly and hospitable.
