The place looks amazing inside and out. Our food came out quickly, and the service was very attentive. The birria de borrego was really good, and the birria de res was great as well. The only downsides were that the aguas frescas were bland and the queso fundido didn’t come with any tortillas or chips. I’d still definitely recommend the sampler platter and the birria ramen. The red salsa is really good!

Love their Birria. Been to the Castroville location many times. Of course was discovered here at the Watsonville flea market many moons ago. Anyways, was in Gilroy doing some shopping and I remembered their new location is opened now in Gilroy. I am so glad the recipe taste the same. Homemade tortillas and Birria were spot on. Location is a little hidden, behind a Chevron gas station and some hotel next door.

Food was very good. The atmosphere is really nice and has a fresh feel. Food came out quick and tasted great. Everything was so fresh and yummy. Obviously you need to try their birria. I also got the Chivo (goat) and it was very tender.

I think this place is a Gem. I really like the ambience of the restaurant. Plenty of parking available. Service was great and everyone there was helpful. Food was delicious. In particular I got the Birria Burrito. Very filling, good amount of beans, rice, and meat. Consume was not too salty but very flavorful. Overall, solid place and I hope they succeed!

I just went to Birrieria Coalcoman in Gilroy with my elderly parents and was so impressed by the service. The waiter explained the different parts of the menu because a lot was in Spanish. He was very patient with my elderly parents and myself. 10/10 for the service. And 10/10 for the food. We each ordered the “3 tacos.” They were the best we have ever had. My mom and I had the carnitas which had very tender and flavorful meat, and a lot of it! My dad had the asada and he said it was delicious. We all agreed everything was so delicious and filling. The three of us got two sides of rice/beans to share with each other and there were leftovers of that to take home. The salsa and green sauce were amazing.
Regarding the atmosphere, I would give it a 6/10. We loved the big windows and natural light. The restaurant was clean, but when you walked in it didn’t smell like delicious Mexican food. It had a stale smell mixed with cleanser. We loved the Mexican music playing but found it to be a little too loud for lunch time. The food and service outweighed the negative aspects of the atmosphere and is what will keep us coming back. Thank you for bringing wonderful food to Gilroy!

Had an amazing experience with our bartender Luis. He was on point with our drinks and super attentive. We ordered to go and our food came out quickly. For being open a few weeks they are all doing an amazing job. Thank you for such a great experience, will definitely be back.

We have watched this place being built out for what seems like years. At one point we didn’t think they were going to open but thankfully they did. Our vlfiest visit was a wonderful experience. The staff were all very friendly and the service was fantastic. The prices were very fair and the food was served very fast l, like surprisingly fast as they were pretty busy when we were there. The food itself we thought was fantastic. The meat was nice and tender and the serving portion was very generous. We will definitely add this to our rotation of date night visits and hope the experiences in the future match our first. Overlap, a great first visit!

Salads: mixed greens & macaroni
Deserts: flan & vanilla ice cream
The food was DELICIOUS & their drinks, aguas frescas were refreshing !!! The service was absolutely impeccable! On weekends they also have delicious Menudo. This place is just a great place to dine.

Food is always so flavorful and fresh! The staff is always so friendly and the homemade tortillas a plus!! Definitely an amazing family atmosphere and such a unique place! My favorite items are definitely the birria sampler, birria chilaquiles, chile verde burrito and the birria burger!!
