Billy’s tap is one of the best places you can get food in Central IL. We are so lucky to have somewhere like this, I’d truly go crazy if Billy’s wasn’t around. The Bartenders are all Gems, the kitchen staff are all brilliant, all around one of the best dive joints with a menu that you’d never expect. NEVER skip the duck wontons or the sweet potato waffle fries (try the maple and mustard) I’ve tried damn near everything on their menu and nothing has been bad yet. It’s probably good their kitchen is only open for dinner on certain days because they’d probably have to make me a spare bedroom if they were open more days for dinner. I seriously can’t say more good things about this place.

We visited Billy’s tap for build your own burger night. I was pleasantly surprised to see turkey burger on the menu. I had a turkey burger with garlic mayo, Gouda cheese, banana peppers on a pretzel roll and it was fantastic. The Cole slaw is on the vinegar side with a hint of horseradish and it was minced, but the flavor was good. The fries were seasoned and reminded me of Arby’s curly fries, very good. The only complaint is they don’t serve food every night so call first. For two burgers with a side and an appetizer it was $43 before tip.

This is a local gem that I only recently discovered lol. Ive lived in the area for 18 years and thought it was just a bar! A typical old world bar, but they also have fantastic food with a number of twists that you don’t see at other places. The New Yorker is a grilled corned beef and pastrami rueben and was delicious. The pork tenderloin sandwich is the perfect size, not too flattened out, not too thick and is mostly meat. Had a simple thick burger (have to request thick or it’s smashed) and the flavor of the beef was actually upfront…nice. Quality buns and bread for sandwiches and lots of options. Must be 15 appetizers listed. Don’t see the traditional “fish and chips made from fresh cod” which i love, nor whole or filet of catfish which i also love but can get anywhere. So some really unique sandwiches with a gourmet twist and some classic old timers. My new favorite place, hot fresh food, and a lively crowd. Not really the place for my 90 year old Mother, but im sure a few have gotten there starting from in their 70s. Im telling all of my Havana IL friends…20 miles away and better than anything we have locally. Bravo!

So, we drove an hour. We waited an hour and 1/2 from order time to food on the table time. Don’t plan on a quick bite or ordering anything else on the menu on a Wednesday night. It gets packed quickly. It’s Build your Own Burger & Flatbread Pizza Night ONLY! It was well worth the wait. Our burgers were AMAZING (Gourmet status, and the fries were Golden 5+☆’s)! They kept the cold drinks coming while we waited for them to arrive. The whole vibe is very cozy, comfortable, modern ranch, and a few tvs mounted on the walls. Clean stocked bathrooms. Beers are cold. The waitresses and bartenders are super friendly. 1 room in the bar area, another room off in the back with a bar and a patio beer garden/seating area outside. Very impressed with this gem. Well done! No complaints from our party of four! 🙂 Family Friendly.

Cool place nice waitress. Unfortunately my table (2 people) never received our cheeseburgers and fries after waiting an hour we saw people who came in 30+ minutes after us receiving their food. Asked for our ticket and we were told “they probably just put it on the grill if you wanted to wait” why would 2 cheeseburger just be now on the grill after an hour??

The kitchen only serves 6 days a week (not on Sundays) the kitchen is open and serves lunch until 2pm but last order in at 145pm. They have a build your own burger wednesday night

The wife and I took a little day trip to Canton and ended up eating at Billy’s Tap. What a pleasure! The staff were friendly and jocular, the food was fantastic and the vibe was immaculate. The wife got a lemon shake-up with blueberry vodka…. Wow! So good! And the burger I had was outstanding! Top notch. I’ve been to Canton many times and can’t believe I just found Billy’s. We’ve already talked about coming back and if you’re in the area check it out. You won’t be sorry.

This place is great! Lots of drink options! At least 16 beers on tap, more in cans, full bar for mixed drinks, and even have high noon and white claw for seltzer drinkers. I was very happy with all the food. We ordered the Bella burger, mufaleta, sweet potato fries, and ghost pepper cheese curds. Everything was delicious and very reasonably priced. The ambiance is very cool, with typical dive bar decor. I was impressed with the clean bathrooms. Lastly, service was exceptional. All the girls are attentive and friendly. We will be returning!
