We had a private party here and it was wonderful! Leigh Ann (catering and private party coordinator) walked me through the process. She did a fabulous job of helping me and being patient with me. They structure it in a way that really helps reduce the stress. I didn’t have to commit to food for 90 people and 40 showed up (many other places do that). They started us off with three food options and if we were running low, all I had to do was tell Lindsay (our server/bartender) and she immediately told the kitchen and they cooked up a fresh batch of quesadillas or chicken fingers, etc… Pay as go sort of thing, awesome.
The space was perfect (see pics). And speaking of Lindsay, she was on top of it! She ran that party solo and rocked it. Being the host, I was watching everything like a hawk and I am telling you, she rocked it. Including very politely letting anyone who wondered into the private party area know it was reserved for the party. I would highly recommend anyone wanting to do a private party here to request Lindsay C. Thank you Billy’s for making this night awesome!

Nice local bar and grill. Great for watching a game or drinks with coworkers.
Seems a bit dirty in areas but never had an issue with good. Everything is cooked well, nothing great, but good bar food!
Fried olives are one of the best things on menu, and grilled wings!!

Edited to say that the owner found us while still at the restaurant. He was super professional and apologetic. We will give him another try bc we know how this industry is

Definitely disappointed. We picked our table after following the signs direction. Took 5 minutes to even get a menu. The person that dropped our menu didn’t even acknowledge us. We eventually got a server and she asked us ‘what do you want to drink?’. Beer came out fine. Once we got our food (chicken club), the fries tasted like leftover McDonald’s fries. The chicken was beyond dry. We had to ask a manager for silverware to even saw through our sandwich. Worst food I’ve had in a while and I ate at steak and shake recently. We will avoid this place at all cost. Only came for the music bc they are friends of ours.

Came to watch a baseball wild card game. Place is listed to close at 10, by our server started giving hints for us to leave around 9.
Their website (at the time of this writing) states they are open until 10 with extended bar hours until 11 in some cases.
Our server repeatedly tried to take our plates away while we were still eating, and kept asking if we wanted our check.
Asked us for our last drink order at 9:10 since they were closing the bar already. Told the server we would probably have another beer in a little while, and agreed that he could ring it up early, but he brought two new beers while our glasses were still half full.
I’d like to point out that we were not the only people here. There were 4 tables still here plus people sitting at the bar.
The place did have a decent atmosphere and nice big screens in both the dining room and bar.
We’re not from the area, but we likely won’t consider this place to catch any games if we’re ever back.

The food was average to ok. The service was poor. Was there for lunch. They were not busy and had to work to get my drink refilled. Even then they have me the wrong drink. If you’re using regular straws for sweet tea and small black straws for unsweetened you shouldn’t have trouble knowing what people want.

This is the second time I’ve been to Billy’s and both times weren’t all that great. Today is Mothers Day do we decided to go to their brunch. We ordered drinks and a child’s sprite but after being looked over I had to get up to remind the waitress about my child’s drink. She then brought it and walked away but didn’t give him a straw(which wouldn’t have been a big deal, but kids like to drink out of straws) so it took another 10 mins to get that.
Once we ordered (giving specific instructions on how good as to be prepared) the food came out cold. One order had onions and peppers when she asked they not be cooked in and my steak was over cooked even though I asked for medium. No one sent the food back because it took so long for us to get it. My sons food came but he ate it with a toothpick because he didn’t get silverware. Once we told her and sh brought it he was almost finished.
When we got the check it was totally wrong double charge for this and triple charges for drinks we didn’t order and once it was brought to the waitresses attention she said ” I’ll have to check with my manager” even thought she had previously say she had take care of it. We tipped her, but honestly nobody wanted to because she really didn’t wait on us. I doubt she’s new so I can’t say that, but I did tell her I wasn’t a fan of the service. And the kicker….I left my card and when I went back in for it, she threw it on the table even though I had my hand out. This is one place I’ll never go back to. My last experience was more of the same, but today wasn’t busy at ALL!

Poor and unprofessional management. Female manager behind bar was constantly on her phone and was rude and disrespectful to other employees and had a filthy loud mouth. Wasnt impressed with food. Greens were awful and would taste better out of a can. Rest of food was dry as if it sat under a heat lamp to long and wasnt freshly made. Bench seating alone wall with round tables is a bad idea. Didnt like sitting shoulder to shoulder with someone at table next to me.

Service leaves something to be desired. But, this is the best bar food joint in Birmingham. The fries are better than crack rock and the Billy’s Chicken Sandwich is legendary. The double-fried-double-sauced wings are incredible. You have to ask for this special, but it is stated on the menu. The ranch dressing is good enough to drink from a cup. So, there may actually be crack in that item.

Ok. I do not usually write reviews. My husband and I went here today. It started out ok, however the young lady that was our server went outside to pet a customer dog. She allowed the dog to jump on her and did not wash her hands after returning. She went out to pet the dog again, take the dog water, and cooked bacon while my onion rings and fries was getting cold. I requested for another server. This is why American business will fail. So sad. I want be returning. No mananger on-site.

I ordered through the Waitr app. The delivery was super fast, but the food was weak. I ordered the ribeye medium well. It was tough and had lots of gristle. Despite the delivery being fast, the onion rings were absolutely soaked. I regret the big tip i left.
