Really enjoyed our roadtrip stopover at this cafe. They do specialty coffee. The barista was really sweet! She made me her first white chocolate peppermint mocha of the season. It was adorable and delicious!

Chicken tenders were yummy! Real chicken, good texture, great taste. Didn’t expect this from a gas station pit stop. Thanks y’all!

I have been looking for Steel Reserve Spiked Tangerine for 6 months and Billy’s had 9 of them. I was on my way home to San Antonio and we got detoured off of 10. What great luck, Hail Satan! They have reportedly put the Tangerines on winter hiatus, but Billy’s really came through! Can I get a thank you Angel of Light for delivering me to that spot? I’ll definitely detour north from Lafayette to visit again!

We roadtrip to New Orleans at least twice a year from Texas and Billy’s Diner has become an anticipated, favorite tradition.
We happened upon the spot by accident due to the call of nature. I went in to use the ladies room and noticed a long line to order food and a cafe full of patrons enjoying what smelled like the best chicken tenders I’ve ever smelled in my life. I told The Mister we had to try the food – which flabbergasted him because he knows I don’t prefer to eat at “gas stations.” We ordered one three-piece tenders with fries meal and a quarter pound bag of seasoned cracklins to share. The food was extremely well seasoned, fresh and hot. The fries were perfectly salted, crispy on the outside and soft and hot in the middle. The chicken tenders were seasoned and fried to perfection. The cracklins will have you craving them at random times in your life!
Billy’s Diner is a must-make-pit-stop on your next road trip through the area!

I can only assume it’s a good place because the line to get some food wrapped around from quite some distance. We’re from out of town and didn’t have time to stay. Boudin balls seemed to be a hit.

Our server seemed confused by everything we ordered. Waited over 30 minutes for poboys, went back up to ask about them and found they hadn’t even gotten started yet. We saw another customer who had waited at least 20 minutes for his food. The food we did end up getting was good, but the service was decidedly lacking.

I can’t some to S Louisiana and not stop by Billy’s… great food, great service a true staple when I come home to visit. Unfortunately the last 2 times through I haven’t been able to try the burger. I’m looking forward to getting that timing right.

Used to love stopping here. They have great food but the quality of service took a HUGE nose dive after they built their new store. Most of the staff wanders behind the counters. They don’t help each other fill orders. They are SLLLLLOOOOOOW. A 5 person line now takes 10-15 minutes. It ridiculous and honestly keeps me from stopping now.
