At almost 5 pm on Sunday my friend and I went to Billy Sim’s to order baked potatoes to go. The establishment appeared clean and orderly and the staff took our order right away because there were only two other customers in the restaurant. The food didn’t come quickly but I was in no hurry. We payed for our order and took our food home to discover both of our orders contained dry, hard, small, shriveled up potatoes and almost all the extras that we ordered. It was obvious that they had been kept in the warmer for a long, long time. We considered returning them but we didn’t want to go to all the trouble and go back home still hungry. So we doctored up our pitiful potatoes with butter, cheese, sour cream and onions to help hide the taste of the potatoes. It worked. We didn’t really like our potatoes but we ate them anyway. This was the first time we had ordered potatoes without the meat and had always been pleased before today. I thought I would give this store another chance someday until I read another review that described a baked potato unfit to be served. The staff should have noticed this. I gave this store 2 stars only because neither of us got sick after eating. I won’t order potatoes there again. Two baked leather-tough potatoes and a small ice tea were not worth the $21 they charged. Get it together, Billy!

Super fast and friendly service! I actually enjoyed my meal here them most other locations! I had the loaded baked potato with brisket and baked beans and my friend had the Heisman sandwich with baked beans. Also if you purchase a large drink you can come back in with that cop and refills are $1!!

I have come to the Billy Sims in Elgin and the food used to be great, but not anymore!!! The brisket was dry so very dry and no flavor!!!! And they didn’t even make to Billy beans! They opened a can of pork and beans!! This place sucks now!!!!!! Will not eat there again!!!!

I will never go back to this location again. The air didn’t work, the service was so slow, especially with 5+ people on the line, no brisket, burnt corn and food was cold. The biggest pet piev i have is when workers at a restaurant say, “we didnt expect to be busy or noone showed up”. As a customer, you dont want to hear the problem and at 5pm, dinner time, brisket should be readily available. Worst experience at a Billy Sims ever!!

BBQ chain similar to Dickey’s. First time visiting here; staff were friendly and accommodating. I came at dinner time and it wasn’t too busy, but maybe they had some newer employees cause they were a little slow. They were out of the loaded spuds. We had a medium size party and I had to get up a few times for some stuff missing or condiments. Food was actually pretty good; fall off the bone ribs, potato salad, veggies, Mac and cheese, all above average; brisket a little dry. I dunno cause of our mixed order, but everything was only kinda warm. The AC blowing like crazy probably didn’t help, but it probably does aid the employees. Was like $80-$100 depending on deals. Kids meals are $.99 on Sunday and Mondays with an adult entree which was really nice. For a quick bite of BBQ I might go again.

Love Eligin’s Billy Sims! My husband and I had a late lunch today and the ribs were amazing falling off the bone, amazing! Customer service was spot on and love their sense of humor! Thank you for making our day better!
