Today, the Scott family continues to serve the Shawnee community, specializing in large volume and quick service. Probably some of the worst bbq ive had in oklahoma. I got a 3 meat meal . Turkey,ribs, and sliced brisket. The turkey was a processed turkey breast sliced deli thin. Wierdly had blue ink spots on it. Little scared to eat that had some decent flavor on the part w no ink. The ribs were dry with little meat. The brisket was chewy like overcooked roast. Sauce was meh. Would not recommend.

The BBQ at Billy Boy is average. I understand this place is a Shawnee Classic, but truthfully the food doesn’t prove to be good enough to be renowned.
The atmosphere is cool (feels 90s/80s) and you can tell there is a strong sense of community within the store. I enjoy that.
I got the sliced brisket sandwhich, which was very fatty and gross. My girlfriend, who got the pulled pork, had a great sandwhich. I would definitely recommend the Pork over a sliced brisket. I wish I had tried the ribs instead. We got a side of fries and those were good and crispy. For what you get, the prices are fair. The regular sandwhich is around $6-$7, which is fair for BBQ food.

I walked into order a salad and the manager was in the back making a salad and dipping his bare hands into everything and putting it on the salad. I proceeded to ask the woman at the register if they wear gloves she said she didn’t know then the gentleman at the next register I asked him do y’all wear gloves he said I don’t know I hardly go back there…so you hardly go back there but you work there and you don’t know if you guys wear gloves or not?? This is a health code violation and the fact that the gentleman at the front could not give me a direct answer is scary. Not wearing gloves is a huge health risk. This place has gone downhill and I can see why.

Maybe I just got here on an off day, but I ordered the same thing I did almost a year ago and it was absolutely pathetic. It was a sliced brisket sandwich. It was more chewy than melt in your mouth and there was a lot of fat that had not rendered. I don’t think I will be back. The French fries were hot but not salted. Thank goodness all I got was water. Someone needs to look at who’s running the smoker. This was a waste of money.

Great burgers, chopped beef sandwiches and great chicken nuggets! They make their own ranch (which is delish!) and bbq sauce so make sure you try that. Today I had the gravy with my chicken nuggets and onion rings, so good!
