We’re a great place for friends, we’re a great place for music, we’re a great place to eat some grub and catch the big game. We’ve got a whiskey, bourbon & scotch menu that rivals just about anyone (anywhere) and we’re kinda world famous for our country night on Tuesday. Put quite simply, we’re the kind of place you want to be. Non pretentious and right in the heart of Happy Valley. Come check us out, we know you’ll be back over and over again. Did we mention we’ve got some pretty amazing grub?

Enduring sports-centric haunt with many TVs offering wings & bar bites in a lively atmosphere.

~A young lad with a shaving kit once again walls into the bar. Doorman says, welcome back money bags. Barkeep says, here’s your martini, none of my business what’s in the shaving kit, that’s the doorman’s job; I’m just looking forward to another thousand dollar gratuity. Owner says, I’m glad I did the smart thing and banned that tall glass of water with the big nose from coming around, he was clearly trouble. Parents of the kids at country night said . .. …

This place is notorious for having unprofessional bouncers that kick people out for fun. Got kicked out here once for the reason of “we’re closing in 30 minutes and are trying to get people to start leaving” after I had just ordered a drink. Would not recommend if you don’t want to get split up from your group.

Very clean, good prices, and a ton of drink options. Small food menu, didn’t get food but what we saw looked and smelled good. Definitely more of a focus on alcohol than food. TVs in all directions to watch any game that’s on.

The one bartender was completely unprofessional. Kicked my friend out because he was “swaying back and forth” but he wasn’t at all. All he was doing was ordering waters and in my opinion he was probably kicked out because the bartender didn’t like how my friend was chatting it up with what could’ve been his girl. I get working at a college bar late at night can be stressful but if you’re going to stand on the bar yelling like a maniac to get someone out the bar, then maybe you should be in a different line of work and get better control of your emotions. Other bartenders and even bouncers were chill though.

Just another great place for a pint in State College. Nice lineup of craft beer on tap. Not a particularly large establishment, so can feel a bit cramped in there, but pretty decent otherwise.

Went to pickles during a football game with some friends and paid a 3 dollar cover. I was sober and didn’t order an alcoholic beverage for 2 hours. Was thrown out by one of the bouncers who claimed i was “too intoxicated” and had to leave, even though my friend(who was drinking a whole pitcher) wasn’t asked to leave. The bouncers make the bars in State college a hostile environment and give off the vibe they are on a power trip by the way they treat people. Sorry you have a dead end job and are probably going nowhere in life, but at least be good enough at to tell who is stone cold sober and who’s drunk. Bar is a great place, and I have many great memories there. But after the way I was treated last time I went they have lost my business and hopefully many others

This place used to be one of my go to places in State College, but it’s gone down hill since COVID last year. I used to go every Wednesday because they had $5 Yuengling pitchers and it was also wing night. They always seem to be out of Yuengling now for whatever reason and the kitchen is always closed. The food is pretty solid when they have it, but you never know.

College bars can be challenging places to work. Since joining the State College community, I have had positive experiences at Bill Pickles Tap Room on College Ave and S. Allen Street. Every time I go there, I’m positively greeted by doormen Jake and Eric. Jake is exceptionally professional when he has to deal with unruly intoxicated patrons, so I give him tremendous respect and hope management can reward him for his consistent professional behavior.
