The atmosphere here is nothing special. We only ordered the fried pickles and cocktails. The pickles were just okay, but the cocktails very good. Our server, Jayden, was great. The place was very loud and hard to have a conversation. It was okay, but nothing special for us. It must be a popular place, though. It was packed.

Best BBQ in State College

The food was amazing. Phenomenal BBQ! They have it all, half chickens, smoked brisket, smoked ribs and pulled pork! The atmosphere was exactly what I was looking for, great drink selection and their service staff is friendly and attentive. I can’t recommend this place enough. If you’re looking for the best BBQ around, Bill Pickles Tap Room is the one.

Another packed bar in State College. Went after the Nebraska game. Had a couple of beers. The vibe is chill, not too loud. TVs with sports lining the wall. Not a bad spot to chill and grab a drink. Wish I could’ve stayed longer. The service was alright for being a busy night. I’m sure if it wasn’t a home game it would’ve been better. Still worth checking out.

Bill Pickles Tap Room in State College is a BBQ gem! Their Fresh Smoke pulled pork is tender and smoky, paired with house-made sauces. Smoked wings are flavorful, though not crispy as preferred—still delicious! Mac ‘n’ cheese steals the show, creamy and better than most. The vibe’s laid-back with a cool outdoor deck and killer craft beers. A must-visit for BBQ fans, but crispy wing lovers might ask for a quick fry. Great spot to chill and chow down

Very delicious place!! The tacos I got were very tasty, and the Alabama White sauce (as well as their other sauces) were very good as well! Definitely a good place to go to get a quick drink and enjoy some good food!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Absolutely incredible BBQ!
I tried the brisket, pulled pork, and pulled chicken, and every single bite was perfect. The brisket was insanely tender with that melt-in-your-mouth smoky flavor, the pulled pork was juicy and packed with seasoning, and the pulled chicken had the perfect balance of smoke and moisture.

But the real surprise? The nachos.
They were absolutely to die for — loaded, flavorful, and easily the best BBQ nachos I’ve ever had.

Bill Pickles Tap Room is officially my new go-to spot for BBQ. Highly recommend!

Popped into Pickles for a late lunch on a Saturday afternoon. Our visit was during the Central Pennsylvania Festival of the Arts so the town was busy as was every restaurant and bar. The inside area has a large bar and a big open door to a small outside deck along the street. There is no organized seating so – as the bouncer shared…..it’s every man/woman for themselves. We managed to score two seats at a tiny counter which worked for our party of two. We ordered smoked chicken wings, cornbread and a pulled pork sandwich (the punch and fluff) – all were delicious and reasonably portioned and priced. We also enjoyed a Paloma and a Gin Strawberry Lemonade – both refreshing on a nearly 100 degree hot and humid summer day. Definitely recommend for their bbq influenced menu and a beer or cocktail. (They also have a few NA beers and mocktails!)

Outstanding BBQ Experience!
The brisket, pulled pork, and pulled chicken were on another level. The brisket was fall-apart tender with a rich, smoky flavor. The pulled pork was incredibly juicy and seasoned perfectly, and the pulled chicken was moist with just the right amount of smoke.Bill Pickles Tap Room is truly crushing it, can’t recommend it enough!
