In 1950, with a $500 loan from his father, Bill Miller opened a small poultry and egg business. Three years later Bill Miller Bar-B-Q began as a small fried chicken-to-go restaurant. Today Bill Miller is a family owned and operated business with 77 locations in the San Antonio, Austin, Corpus Christi and surrounding areas. We take pride in cooking all our barbecued meats in pits smoked with 100% live oak wood. We offer a variety of meats such as brisket, sausage, bar-b-q chicken, pork spareribs, turkey and fried chicken. We specialize in the baking of breads and pies made fresh daily. Always a pleasant experience with the cashiers at the drive-thru—they are consistently friendly! I was so excited to see pumpkin pie has returned for the season. My excitement faded a bit when I saw the state of the whipped cream on my pie; it looked like it was just thrown in the box.

Honestly, with rising prices, I expect the quality to match. The main reason I didn’t go back to have it fixed is that the managers at this particular location can be very rude and unapproachable. It’s a shame that poor management can spoil an otherwise good visit.

We frequent the 281/bulverde rd location for breakfast and lunch. On a regular basis we see a couple of employees and would like to bring attention to a few who go above and beyond. Kendall always makes us feel welcome with a warm hello as well as friendly conversation. No matter the day her up beat personality puts a smile on our face and makes us feel like we are not just a number going thru the line. Christine has gotten to know us as well and now she can fill our drink order how we like them without asking what we want anymore. Lastly, Danielle usually rings us up and makes sure everything is good and always asks for our phone number for the rewards program as we tend to forget.
All 3 are exceptional employees and represent what customer service is all about, which is not the norm in today’s society.

I went through the drive-through tonight@ 281/Bulverde Rd. and both the dining room and the drive-through were packed. But I was greeted by a young man who was taking all the drive-through orders. He greeted everyone with the biggest smile and even had time for a little bit of small talk. I think it’s hard to find Young people these days that know how to communicate In a friendly way that makes people feel that the wait in the drive-through line was worth it! Great employee!!

I ordered a bill miller breakfast plate. I don’t eat meat so I substitute the meat portion for extra eggs which is not normally an issue. Anna Perez the store manager said she can’t do that they have to charge me. I explained I never had that experience before as I order breakfast here the same way 3-4 times a week. Anna Perez proceeded to deny me the order. I’m writing the review because even if her stores didn’t allow me to make that substitution I was the last person ordering breakfast as she yelled out “no more breakfast” to her cook line at 11am. To make my order she had to make eggs for me. So she has a whole pot of eggs that she cannot sale any more because she told the line breakfast is over. So she could have easily made me happy and explained that she can’t accommodate the order next time and I would have accepted that. But the fact that you have a full pot of eggs you already said you won’t be serving due to after hours and you still not only didn’t give me my double eggs that I normally get in exchange for not getting the meat you all so didn’t give me the egg portions I should have gotten and I still got charged for the meat that I didn’t get. Anna needs to be trained further in customer service and resolution as this was a poor representation of a manger resolving a conflict that could have been done without complication or someone being upset. I want my money back and I will never go back to this location until I hear Anna Perez is retrained

### Great Breakfast at Bill Miller’s on Hwy 281 North
We enjoyed a delicious breakfast and coffee at Bill Miller’s on Hwy 281 North. The atmosphere was nice and the restaurant, including the bathrooms, were clean and well-maintained. However, we were surprised to find there was no changing table in either of the restrooms, which would be very helpful. The customer service was okay, but it would be great if they were a bit more welcoming in the morning. Overall, a good experience with a few areas for improvement.

This location never disappoints. When I am craving a potato and brisket taco this is where I go. And my daughters loves the tenders and fried chicken plates. They vote these better than other chicken places. Always so fast and never messy.

I have one issue with this BM. Drive thru can use better people who can get a family order right and not forget my pie , I trust but why it always happens without checking my order I come all the way home and find that the cashier reminded me the order is all in the bag. So I returned the mgr Mr perez I spoke to can’t even make the inconvenience right he asked me what kind of pie can he add for the issue,apple I said ,I got pumpkin, no trust ,CHK your order, management is their example.

Never coming here again. Placed in an order at 8:46 AM for 5 PM pick up. We get here at 5 PM and for 15 minutes nobody could find the order of any clue and about 40 minutes under this thing we have still yet to get our food. The first time we’ve placed a big order they didn’t put the beans in any kind of bag, and it fell through everything and ended up in the floorboard of a brand new car. They don’t know how to place an order or pack it in a bag correctly.

Ive heard people say “who even keeps Bill Miller’s alive?” Hi, its me I am the people. Ive ordered the same thing since I was able to order on my own, except now I can drive there before work/school without someone telling me no to get their breakfast tacos. There was once a time when the bean and cheese wasn’t good, but now its one of my favorite amongst all the chains.
