In 1950, with a $500 loan from his father, Bill Miller opened a small poultry and egg business. Three years later Bill Miller Bar-B-Q began as a small fried chicken-to-go restaurant. Today Bill Miller is a family owned and operated business with 77 locations in the San Antonio, Austin, Corpus Christi and surrounding areas. We take pride in cooking all our barbecued meats in pits smoked with 100% live oak wood. We offer a variety of meats such as brisket, sausage, bar-b-q chicken, pork spareribs, turkey and fried chicken. We specialize in the baking of breads and pies made fresh daily. I came here at a relatively busy time so I was ok with a wait. Upon getting my order taken I heard loud yelling from multiple employees ( makes sense it’s busy). After finishing my order with a kind woman I was told to go to the window. When I got to the window I was rudely greeted and was asked to repeat my entire order again. I understand repeating a couple large items of my order, but every detail of it felt excessive. After a short wait I received my food and was given a goodnight before the window was shut on me. At this point I had not received my drinks. I then saw another young woman walk to the window with my drinks. Set them on the counter and begin talking to another worker. I sat there for around 5 minutes before the young woman noticed me and asked what I was waiting for rudely. I said my drinks and she laughed and gave me my drinks. After getting home I was not thrilled to notice that the sauces I got were barely filled. Overall a very lacklustre experience.

Usually I am very happy with this bill millers since it close by my house. But today at 7:02 ish or 7:20 pm me and my mom decided to get something to eat since we were coming home late from errands only to go to the drive thru to order the two piece chicken all dark with a baker the girl in the speaker was ok from the start but when she try to make my mom look stupid by saying do you know it comes with fries ? Like we know it does but my mom wanted a baker it not that hard
Second : the wait took probably an hour long or so to get our food when we got home my chicken strips were hard not fresh only a little of fries and my mom food was beyond horrible they didn’t give no rolls no good portion what so ever for the food .. thanks to this place I won’t be coming here anymore nor spending a single penny.. never in my life did we get treated horrible in the line ( except the different girl who was kind enough)
I really wish it was still fresh and hot not cold … all thanks to the food that got my mom sick now … if you all don’t wanna do the work then don’t do it !

Not only do they greet you in a commanding manner from behind the serving stations, but they have always made me feel welcome and tend to what I might need for my lunch! Must of had 30 employees working very hard but very confusing to customers. No employee stayed at register or at Buffett line to help customers. That was weird. Took a while for my order to be placed. They seemed focused on door dash and drive through. Took 20 minutes to get my order of two sandwiches nothing special so that was weird. The food was excellent as usual. One mistake was I ordered a sliced beef poboy and got just a container of sliced beef no bread.

The old school Bill Miller’s designer without the salad bar in the dining area. Very friendly and courteous staff! Everyone was upbeat and seemed to be happy to be there. So rare these days. The food was pretty much the same as other Bill Miller’s but it seemed like the portions were larger?? Maybe my imagination but the two meat plate seems to have more meat.
Their coleslaw is always good and not overly sweet. Green beans had a tomatoes type sauce that flavored them well.

We got the 3 piece chicken combo. The food was ok. Fried chicken was a little bland. Of the 6 pieces of chicken, we got 4 breasts… a little more variety in the pieces would be good. I like dark meat and Dave likes white, so we thought we would get a variety with the 2 orders as they charge more to request white or dark. We may try it again and try a different meal.
