I went there on Thanksgiving for dinner and was a little bit disappointed because on the website it listed a Thanksgiving day menu and did not tell me that the menu was only available at certain times. Nor did you tell me how much it would cost. It ended up being a good thing that I missed the Thanksgiving lunch because it was $75 per person.

That said I did enjoy the reduced menu options for dinner. They had a couple different options like a Thanksgiving day meal and swordfish. Being a vegetarian I was a little bit worried at first, but I asked my waiter if they could make me up a pasta dish and they were able to give me a spaghetti with red sauce after checking with the chef. The swordfish was OK for my mother, but it was nothing special and I was a little bit disappointed because I was expecting it to be amazing.

The restaurant itself and the hotel it was in was absolutely beautiful. This is a must go place if you’re visiting New Orleans. There are so many different places to take pictures and in the waitstaff are willing to do pictures.

My husband and I recently stayed at the hotel and decided to stay in one evening and eat in. We went downstairs for the “All you can eat” $18.99 dinner for which the menu changes each night of the week. We were astounded to see that we were the only ones eating there. The room is gorgeous and we had a table right by the fireplace. It is a fabulously romantic room. Our waiter was attentive but allowed us our privacy. We thoroughly enjoyed the meal prepared that evening. The bread pudding with rum sauce is the best in the city. You’ll notice I put the cost at $25 pp because we did add extras.

My girlfriend, her brother and I made reservations for Christmas Brunch at 11:45. We arrived 5 minutes late, but had called to inform them and was told it was no problem. It was really the parking that delayed us. We walked in and the Bar was full of obviously angry people…perhaps 20-30. There were another 20 waiting at the hostess station. We dutifully waited in line until the hostess (who looked totally frazzled) just waived us to the bar without taking out names. We were there 10 minutes when we realized that the reservation under my girlfriend name (Nelson) and they had never put us down on the cocktail napkin. So my girlfriend went up and they put our name down. She also noted they were putting down names who had no reservations.

So we wait and wait. It turned out if you stood in front of her she was more likely to call you, reservation or not. My girlfriend had made the reservation on open table which required a credit card number and said in BIG BOLD LETTERS that there was a fee for cancelling of $25. My girlfriend cannot recall whether that was per person or per reservation, but what it came down to is that they were not honoring their reservations. Management who I spoke to said they don’t do this but other diners have confirmed that they were required to put a deposit down. So multiple reviews confirm the deposit policy at least on open tables end requires a deposit.

So about an hour and ten minutes after our reservation we were seated. We had never been told nor was it advertised as a buffet. The carving table was unmanned. Half of the food trays were empty and the remainder was cold and seemed like leftovers.

The attitude in the room was hostile because everyone was not getting what they had been promised. The food was bad and there was a hostile crowd whilst still there were 50 people waiting in the bar area.

I contacted management who said they were going to offer recompense and call all guests. Of course that never happened.

Apparently their single hostess and hotel staff could not handle how many they booked and then took people without reservations as we heard people without reservations being put on the list.

Frankly this was the worst restaurant meal I have ever had. Everyone in the room was angry, and the buffet ended at 2:30. There were nearly 100 patrons in the bar area looking angry when we left. They were dismantling the buffet, at 2:20 and still seating patrons. These had to eat left overs or order from the menu…..but the menu was out of many things. Patrons who had raved and attended the event for 10 years with parties of 8+ said this was horrific and he would never come back. Others on Yelp claimed what sounds like food poisoning.

The restaurant and hotel simply let a chaotic experience happen and then disappeared. The servers disappeared. Then they said they would contact the guests. That never happened. We are challenging the charge. I hope others do as well.

I am glad this place is closed down . i used to love this place back in day i came here a lot with my sweet abuela for brunch and stays so many times but i had a wedding event here and it was nice and lovely and perfect until we received a “complimentary stay” gift certificate that was a day gift and the guy at the front desk was very mean to me and my spouse . he asked us “why were we using a gift certificate “? And “can we afford to stay there” he act as if the hotel was Buckingham palace or something . so a young lady came in and she was sweet and she helped me and my spouse also my spouse gave a $200 tip to the nice young lady in front of the rude front desk employee and he got mad lol that felt good at least he learned a valuable lesson on letting his mouth get him into trouble and corporate still gave us a refund on the restaurant service too
