Isn’t one glad that we’re not landlocked in New Jersey and don’t have to go far for the absolute freshest seafood? The Jersey Shore restaurants will always have an advantage when it comes to seafood because of location.
North Jersey offers a diverse, high-quality seafood scene, ranging from upscale Mediterranean-style fish markets to casual, beloved neighborhood spots.
Situated less than 2.5 miles from MetLife Stadium, Biggie’s has been a neighborhood institution located off of Route 17 South in Carlstadt and is best known for its clams-on-the-half-shell and wide selection of beers on tap. My partner, our friends, and I have been to this family-owned establishment numerous times and decided to have dinner last night. The reservation was easily made via OpenTable.
Upon entering this casual vibe, we were greeted by the host. There is a lively sports bar side full of TVs and a dining room side, where we got a booth immediately by the window.
Their menu has a wide array of options, rivaled only by the countless photographs and mementos that fill nearly every inch of wall space. There are many sandwiches, a half-dozen salads, thin-crust pizzas, and a substantial range of pastas.
For starters, we decided on two dozen East Coast oysters on a half shell and Steamed Mussels with white wine butter broth. A side of Italian bread was brought for dipping.
As a main meal, we opted for the Turkey Chili, Baby Back Ribs, Fried Calamari, Caesar salad, and Fries.
The food was excellent and delicious, using the freshest ingredients. The portions were healthy. The staff went out of their way to make one feel welcome, creating a friendly and comfortable atmosphere. Our server was Hadiyah. The price was reasonable.
The Garden State’s seafood scene is a testament to the state’s rich maritime heritage, offering something for every palate, whether one’s a regular or a first-timer. This is why people keep coming back week after week.

Biggie’s is truly my go-to spot in Carlstadt. The food is always fresh, flavorful, and consistent—never a bad meal here. The staff goes out of their way to make you feel welcome, creating a friendly and comfortable atmosphere every time. The menu has something for everyone, from seafood and sandwiches to hearty entrées, and everything comes out with great quality and portions. Whether it’s dinner with family, drinks with friends, or celebrating a special occasion, Biggie’s never disappoints. Highly recommend!

Came to catch up with an old friend and we just had appetizers and drinks. Order the teriyaki chicken wings and they were out of this world. Our server was spectacular she was very accommodating and very attentive. The music was on part of our age group you know a lot of ’70s and ’80s music that we were familiar with so we enjoyed that would definitely go back.
Went in the middle of the week in the late evening so it was very quiet it would be interested to see what it’s like on the weekend or if a sporting event is on.

We visited about a week ago with my family and my kids’ great-grandma, not knowing exactly what to expect—but we were so glad we came. From the moment we sat down, the experience was wonderful.
The kids had the best time and are still talking about the fresh French fries, which they confidently claim are “the best in the world.” My grandma ordered the lobster roll and oysters, and everything was incredibly fresh.
I have to say, the service was absolutely flawless. There was a small issue with the bread on the shrimp po’ boy, and the staff was immediately on it. Multiple team members checked in and offered to replace the bread right away. I told them it was totally fine, but the fact that they were so attentive and genuinely wanted to make the experience better meant everything.
A special thank you to Camron (hope I’m spelling that right!)—you truly made our dining experience exceptional. We live far away, but this place is absolutely worth the trip, and we will be returning. Thank you again for such a memorable meal!

Stopped here for dinner. Good food, not super loud, friendly waitress. They have a pretty big menu too and free parking right out front. We are staying nearby on vacation and take the bus into Manhatten.

I had extremely high hopes for this restaurant, as I was bragging to my friend how great it was. I’ve been here multiple times and never had a bad experience. As she drove over an hour to see me and take me to lunch, at a place I thought would be great……
SO I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience was EXTREMELY disappointing. The food was served cold, which made it clear it had either been sitting too long or wasn’t properly prepared. Cold food ruins the entire dining experience, and it was especially frustrating given the prices.
The manager “Steve” offered to re make my food, which we all know what happens when we send food back, so I kindly declined.
Really that I went out, and spent $57 on ice cold soup, luke shrimp sandwich, and a ghastly chicken sandwich. (wouldn’t feed to my dog)
Hopefully this is something the restaurant can improve moving forward. Not like I would ever know because I would never come back.
Steve, we do appreciate the 20% you took off for the lack luster meal. He was kind of aggressive and not warm.
Sam was a great waitress with proper service, can’t say anything about her.

We went there as a party of 4. The seafood salad and seafood light were delicious. This is the first time my son finished his chicken fingers and fries. He is sort of a connoisseur when it comes to this. The only item that was not a hit was the cod sandwich. The piece of fish was very thin. The grease and panko breading overpowered any taste at the fish may have. Really expected a thicker piece of fish since it was cod and not flounder or catfish. Oysters are a hit and I think the horseradish must be made on the spot as it was perfect. The slice of cheesecake and a happy birthday was a nice touch. Service was great.

Been here plenty of times for lunch, dinner and happy hour. Food is always good and drinks are good. Small parking lot so it gets filled pretty quickly so parking can be tricky if you go when everyone else goes. Service is good. Recently I tried their shrimp pizza and I am hooked it was so good! Their raw blue point oysters were delicious and fire cracker shrimp is yum yum.

First time here for us. Great food, great atmosphere. Very friendly service and the chowders are very delicious. I tried the Manhatten Clam Chowder (tomato based), baked potato and the Tartafuso dessert. I went with my Mom and my Aunt. We are here for the PINK concert tomorrow and wanted to get a bite to eat around town. My family got the Crab and Cob chowders and salad. The strawberry vinaigrette for the salad was so good my mom had to take some home. I really like this place and when we are back in town we will come again. 5 out of 5 stars ✨ ✌️
