We’ve been going here for years and let me say that while the food is always good, the service is consistently horrible. Often the servers are rude and do not even make an effort to be attentive. We keep going back for the food, but we set very low expectations on the service every time.

We’ve been big fans of this place after the first time we came here. The 2nd time we came we were recommended the Burnt Ends. They blew our socks off. Third time, we ordered the 1lb of them because they were soo good the last time and at the 3rd time coming here they were a bit too fatty for my liking. I thought maybe it was just a fatty batch, but we came again just recently and there were literally chunks of fat covered in the sauce. We took home our leftovers and out of curiosity we separated all the chunks of fat from the meat and weighed it and half of our burnt ends were just pure fat. It would be one this if the fat is marbled, but I’m talking pure thick chunks of disgusting fat. Even the brisket was more fatty than usual. I feel a bit ripped off considering I spent 30 dollars on 1lb of Burnt ends for half of it to be just inedible fat. Very dissatisfied and not sure if we’ll rush to come back.

Tough to find good southern BBQ and this place hits the mark! Great food, fantastic portion for the price and staff were super friendly and responsive. Might go back for a second night in a row while out in Steinbach!

Maybe I have high expectations since I heard a lot about the place, The food was good however I did not find it elevated than the ribs that we had at Applebee’s or Famous Dave’s. The ambiance could use an updated table and chairs that can be arranged to sit more people. We didn’t get to order the family platter since they were running low on the meat . Perhaps we will give it another try when we get an opportunity and hopefully the place will have some improvements. There was a 1/2 hour wait when we went there.

We visited Bigg Smoak again, and once again it was very good!!
Tanya our server was really helpful, and she brought us the meal in a timely manner!!
We had a Little Q, and a Bigg Poutine.
It was the perfect amount for the two of us.
Restaurant was not overly busy, so it was reasonable quite!!
Definitely one of the better restaurants in Steinbach!!

We went to visit our son and his wife for a week. He brought us to this restaurant. I ordered smoked brisket. I made my husband bring me back two more times. He did try other food, but I totally loved This and their baked beans! I really liked their lemonade as well! I did not deviate from my choice all three days! So so good so worth going to! If you’re in Steinbach area, you need to check it out!
Also, the staff were awesome! Friendly and kept checking to see if we needed anything!

We really enjoyed our meals. Their price is much better compared to Winnipeg for the same type of food. We tried their ribs, beef brisket and pulled pork and will come back to try the steaks and other items. The service was good and fast too. Nothing to complain honestly. P.s: Ask for their corn bread and honey butter, very worth to try!

Their hamburger soup, loaded potato soup are so yummy. Liver and onions was so rich. Their portions for chicken strips and fries was so filling I had left overs for 3 days! The servers are so kind. I loved their orange pomegranate salad with the breaded chicken. Their club was amazing. Fish and chips was so memorable- I tried quite a few options and enjoyed every one of them.
They have frozen items to buy and make at home.
And their own icecream shop too. This place is worth going to! And priced so fairly for the amount of food you receive!
I will be back!

the burnt ends i ordered were dry and flavourless, it felt like i got a terrible cut of meat served in too much overly sweet barbecue sauce they expect to drown out the poor quality. i expected them to be flavourful and tender but was quite disappointed. the mac and cheese was grossly overcooked and tasted like cheez whiz and noodles. Again, i was expecting a high quality product with some soul but instead received one of the worst restaurant mac and cheese’s i’ve ever had.

Usually, the food here seems fresh and tastes good. However, when I came here today we ordered the family feast and our food was served cold. Some of the meat was warm, and some were cold. Our pulled pork was especially cold and while the others was like it just got heated up. Usually, the meat would be so hot that it’d still have steam on them, but our meal today did not. Even our appetizers didn’t seem fresh, except for our baked potatoes. The service was good overall, but our food that we ordered being cold, was quite disappointing. Hopefully this was just a one-off issue, but it did affect my dining experience.
