I loved my experience here, everything was just amazing. The food was delicious and blew my mind.

Here’s what we got…
• Japanese Crab Tacos, was a bit skeptical about it, but the eggplant shells definitely did the trick. Every bite was delicious, would suggest using the dipping sauce to add extra kick!
• California Rolls, which were really great, loved the wasabi (you’ll enjoy it if you end up using the right amounts) and ginger (had a slight hit of sweetness).
• Calamari Rings were well done, not too fried nor left raw. Grab them when they’re warm, and they taste great with a squeeze of lemon and the ranch.

Bailey was waiting on us and… he was very patient and quite helpful, great service! He even made sure to check in the kitchen and comeback to tell is that one of the dishes we wanted to order wasn’t available for the day.

Would definitely recommend to my friends and comeback for more food.

The food was great! The sushi has a good fish to rice ratio which makes them very filling. They are a bit on the pricier side, but the portion size makes it worth the price.
Our server, Jacob, was attentive and kind. The host was quick to greet us and we were seated within 10 minutes despite it being busy. We will definitely be back!

Lunch with my daughter at Big Tuna was nothing short of amazing! From the moment we walked in, the vibe was warm, welcoming, and had that “we’re about to have some seriously good sushi” feeling.

We kicked things off with a bowl of perfectly salted edamame, the kind that makes you keep saying, “Just one more,” until suddenly the bowl is empty. It pairs well with their branded hot sauce. Then came the sushi feast, and wow! Fresh, colorful, and plated like edible art. The rolls were as delicious as they were beautiful (the kind that makes you pause mid-bite just to appreciate the moment).

My daughters rolls we awesome, she let me try them,, and let me tell you, the balance of flavors – from creamy avocado to fresh tuna and crunchy tempura – was spot on. Every bite felt like a little celebration. And the Saba? Absolutely melt-in-your-mouth perfection. I adored the coconut shrimp roll, who would have known?

Big Tuna has that rare combo of great food, friendly service, and a menu that makes you want to come back just to try everything else. If you’re ever in Chico and craving sushi, this place is a must!

We came for dinner and happy hour. The fish was very fresh, and the urchin was reasonably (market) priced. Our hot appetizers, like the takoyaki, potstickers, and tacos, were all phenomenal as well. We loved everything we ate and will certainly be back.

The Google reviews brought us here. Such great reviews. Sadly, tonight’s meal did not qualify for 4-5 stars. My daughter and I ordered Udon, spicy garlic edemane, shiso roll and shiso appetizer. Udon was a bit too sweet for my taste but the noodles were very good. The shiso roll was fishy and the spicy garlic edemane was too spicy. Couldn’t enjoy the flavors. Lots of leftovers left on the table. Maybe we will try again next year. The service was great and the atmosphere was enticing. On the positive side, they had college football on the multiple screens around the restaurant.

Saturday afternoon for dinner! Very busy place!

Food are just okay, but consider good in Chico. Very slow services, took a while to get our order, drinks, food and cleaning our table or refilling our water glass.

Great beer selection though! Many local and international beers to select!

Portions on the lion roll felt small In portion aize and lacking in flavor for $14.50. The chicken portion on the chicken katsu curry was also small, curry quality and taste was okay.. overpriced, decent service and a nice setting.
