I’ve traveled these entire United States. From coast 2 coast. And border 2 border. And this is the absolute best. I always order the same thing no matter what pizza establishment I’m visiting…that’s the meatball sub and a slice of cheese pizza. Score this place a 10 out of 10. The food was delicious and not heavy. The ice machine had fresh cube ice for your soda pop selection. And the conversation was great! The owner of the place didn’t know at the time he was talking to one of Google Reviews Top Dawgs. He was very polite and engaging. I don’t the know the guy, but I love him! FIVE STARS ALL ACROSS THE BOARD!!!

I’m not sure why we’ve waited so long to try this place.
Big Papa’s is a little out of our way (ok, maybe15 min each direction out of our way) but every time we’d pass by, I’d say, “I really want to try that place”. Finally, the stars aligned and my wife would be passing it on the way home shortly after they opened AND I remembered about it in time.
I called in the order and the lady on the phone was super nice. My wife picked up the order in the drive through. It wasn’t quite ready, but the owner gave my wife a slice of calzone to sample and pass the time. She got a 16″ cheese for herself/our toddler and I got the 16″ Supremo. As soon as she got in the house and sat the boxes down, our toddler hopped on the barstool, took a deep whiff and excitedly yelled, “YUMMMM Pizza smells goooooooood”, and he was right.
The pizza was perfectly cooked, the toppings were perfectly distributed in just the right quantity, and the dough had just the right amount of chewiness. The edge of the crust wasn’t 3″ of untopped bread like many places that try to cheap out on toppings, but was rather a perfect ~3/4″ crust. Multiple times we both discussed how good it was and my wife was pleased with how friendly the staff/service was.
A 16″ pizza is enough to make three meals for one person (or two if you’re like me and don’t have self-control to stop at a comfortable level when the food is this good) and I’m glad we have leftovers to look forward to.
If you’re comparing pricing to chain pizza places, you’re going to be disappointed. If you’re comparing to other made-fresh pizzerias, it’s well in line and I personally feel the value for the quality, quantity, freshness, and experience, weighs heavily in the customer’s favor.
We’ve tried nearly every pizza place in York county and we’ve finally found the best. It may be out of the way but I’ll be finding a reason to go that direction more often for certain.
If they ever want to open a place in Newport/just northwest of Rock Hill, they’ve already got a dedicated customer.

It’s our first visit since this pizza spot opened and we absolutely loved it! Just be cautious, it’s cash only at the moment until they get their POS system working. But they do have an atm you can use to withdraw.
Pizza was amazing! They told us it would be a 35 minute wait and it only took about 25 minutes. We ordered a Margherita and a New York Pepperoni. Pizzas were fresh out the oven and have such a delicious flavor! Will definitely be back to try their other varieties.

This was our first time here and the pizza was incredibly delicious!!! We ate the Supremo pizza with pepperoni, sausage, red peppers, onions, and mushrooms. We will definitely be back now that we finally have a local place to get a truly tasty pizza like we had up north. Well done Chris Earle and Jerry Simonetti!!!
Kudos to your crew working there.They recognized that it was our first time there, and they walked us through the procedure to order since they didn’t have wait staff for their tables. They made us feel welcome. You need to hang on to these excellent employees!!!

This place is incredible! I’ve driven by it probably 200 times and finally came in. Big Papa was in the house slinging pies on a Saturday lunch rush! The pizza by the slice is a great deal and don’t sleep on that Roma pizza! My new favorite pizza place!

Upon entering the restaurant, the smoky aroma from the kitchen welcomed us with open arms. As a real estate broker and travel agent, I’ve had the pleasure of eating out at many places, but this one was different. We started off with a classic cheese and pepperoni pizza, taking it easy as first-timers. Meeting the owners and Gretchen, with her kindred spirit, was a highlight of the evening. The pizza was simply amazing, and it’s no surprise that we ended up taking one of the last four pies of the night, as the place was sold out. I’m already looking forward to trying out their other options soon, and who knows, this place might just become the number one spot in Lake Wylie. Stay tuned!

We tried Big Papa’s for the first time and it did not disappoint! We shared a calzone, it was large enough that we had enough leftover to eat later that night. Sweet tea is perfect and the restaurant and restrooms were clean. We will definitely be back!
