Grandma’s Beefy Cheese is the absolute way to go. Beef was tender and juicy and the extra sauce recommended by the waitress had my mouth WATERING for more. Everything else on the menu is also delicious. Nothing is over seasoned – making it perfect to add what you like or have the option to not. Service is prompt and genuine, with great recommendations given by the staff. Atmosphere is casual and midwestern – relaxed and great for all family meals. Delightful!

This is the real deal. Everything is oversized. The biscuits and gravy were amazing. The pancakes were huge and my favorite was the potato rings. They were crispy and hot.

The service is fast. The food is perfect. Pancake is soft and fluffy. Eggs were beautifully done. Hash brown is crispy on the outside, soft in the inside. The breaded tenderloin is really tender and juicy. Best of all, nothing is salty, just perfect. The only thing I don’t quite like is the coffee, it is just too boiling hot.

The food is amazing, the vibe is so nice and the PEOPLE are even better! This family owned and operated establishment is top notch. The food is fresh and homemade. The hand made tenderloin is the biggest I’ve ever seen and you will not leave here hungry. Come once and you’ll become a regular. The staff are so friendly and welcoming. HIGHLY recommend!

So disappointed with Big Mama’s Cafe, I use to work in Columbia and for lunch my boss and I would sometimes go there. But today I was so disappointed and will not be going back. I drove from JCity to Columbia to have lunch with my old boss and co- worker, we all ordered the special which was the chicken. My boss and co- worker only had an hour because they had to go back to work. We sat there for over 45 minutes and still had not gotten our meals, After flagging down our waitress she went to check and came back and said sorry and they had to drop more chicken and it would be another 5 minutes. I asked to speak to the manager, she came over , I explained everything and she informed us that it takes 25 minutes to cook the chicken . She said nothing could be done , other then wait more. We waited another 15 minutes , still not food . My boss and co-worker had to leave and head back to work so I stayed and picked up all three meals and had to deliver them to my friends. We didn’t get to eat together. I left and drove back to JCity and had to warm my meal up at home and eat alone, not sure if they got to eat their meal.

Food and atmosphere was great. Waitresses seemed a little overwhelmed. Had to ask passing by waitresses for drink and condiments. But overall everything was great. May have been just a busy morning. Would recommend.

Took my daughter to place. She had doubts about my sanity but once we walked in she was amazed. She talks about it still. DO NOT DOUBT THE EXTERIOR, because the inside is a well kept secret. I love my Lil secret more since I took my daughter.

Our food was great…… when we got it. The place was steady but not slammed when we went. Our server took our order, brought our drinks and we never seen her again. A food runner brought us most of our food. I had to flag down a different server as she was the only person that even came near my table. I asked her about the rest of our food, she went and got it for me. She came back and refilled our drinks. Our server either actively avoided our table or completely forgot about us. Either way, her lack of service sucked. She had plenty of time to check on another table just 10 feet away…. she checked in with them 5 times before they were even ready to order (their whole party hadn’t gotten there yet). But not once to check on our food, or refill coffee. Once I had enough I asked for to go box. Only then did our server come to my table. She comped my cinnamon roll…… that’s it. No sincere apology, management did nothing….. food was great, but if you get the server in her late 30’s with a “Karen” hair cut….. request somebody else

Today, we paid our second second visit here, I got the breakfast burrito, and it was decent. However, the taste of it was SUPER bland, so I will not be getting it again. But it was plentiful and it was served with a delicious side of potato rings. My husband had the meatball sub, which he really enjoyed!
